Welcome to Röra Haus! Our modern A-frame is nestled in the Valley High community in Garden Valley with new private barrel sauna! Minutes from Crouch, Terrace Lakes Golf Course and hot springs pool, outdoor theatre, eateries, hiking & biking trails and the Payette River. It's a prefect place to unwind, relax and spend time outdoors.
The space
This mountain getaway is perfect for a group of friends, couples looking to spend a romantic weekend in the woods, those seeking relaxation, outdoor enthusiasts and families.
We now have a new, private barrel sauna to help melt away your stress. We do not want to use any chemicals to clean the sauna so we ask guests to ensure they do their part to keep the sauna clean and hygienic. We ask guests to shower before use and use towels provided to sit on in the sauna and wipe up any sweat.
The kitchen provides you with everything you would need for big or small meals; including cookware, utensils, some spices, sugar and oil. Coffee makers (drip and a French press), coffee filters, ground coffee, teapot and tea are provided.
Living room has a large sectional to lounge and gaze out at the beautiful scenery surrounding. We have a Samsung smart tv to enjoy your favorite shows. In cooler months, enjoy the wood-burning, modern fireplace with a warm cup of tea. We have plenty of board games, puzzles and books to have a wonderful evening.
Bedroom 1 is located on the main level with a queen bed. The comfortable bed has cozy bedding and oversized pillows for you to enjoy your stay. This bedroom includes blackout blinds, walk-in closet with washer/dryer, dresser and Roku tv. USB outlets are located on each side of the bed.
Bedroom 2 is located upstairs with a queen bed. This bedroom includes blackout blinds and full closet.
For larger parties, the loft includes a new, comfortable, queen sized pull down couch bed. We will leave a spare mattress protector (please use this to keep the cushion in new condition), set of queen sheets, comforter and pillows inside the upstairs bedroom closet for guests to make up the loft bed as needed. If you would prefer we make it up for you, you must request this of us upon booking, so we can plan accordingly.
Two beautiful full bathrooms are located on the main and upper level. The upper level bathroom has tiled shower and tub if a bath is more your style. Towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided.
Last, but not least, the outside areas - we have two patio areas for you to spend your time. The largest is the front patio which you will find is the best spot to watch wildlife. Get cozy by the fire pit (BYO wood) during a chilly night. Toast marshmallows for some smores or just enjoy the starry night sky. Depending on the season and fire risk in the area, outdoor fires may not be allowed.
We have central air (heat & a/c) to keep you comfortable all times of the year. Satellite internet is included with your stay, but we do hope you take some time to 'unplug' and enjoy the scenery. The internet is very slow at times; we do not recommend video calls or lengthy internet use while you're here.
Additional notes:
Valley High is a full-time resident community. We ask our guests to please drive slowly up to the house (10mph). Also, make sure to watch for deer, elk, and turkeys!
Röra Haus is only 3 miles to Crouch where you will find a grocery store, restaurants, coffee shops, mercantile, outdoor live theatre, Terrace Lakes golf course & geothermal pool, world class fishing & rafting and hiking & biking trails.
We are in a relatively remote location up very windy roads, so please plan ahead. In cold months, we highly recommend 4x4 and chains, otherwise you may not be able to make it up to the cabin. If you have any questions, please message us directly.
We take our cleaning very seriously, so we want to mention we have a $125 cleaning fee charged at the time of booking.
We have updated our internet to Starlink, however there are a lot of trees that can block the signal reception. The internet is better now than it used to be, but may not be as fast as internet in the city. Video streaming and video calls may or may not work as well.
We are on mountain well water. We do have a whole house filter and softener system, however the water can look a little yellow still because of the rust in the water. Our water is tested frequently by the HOA and is safe to bath in, use for cooking and drinking. We also have a pur water filter in the fridge.
