The ship called Energy ship Berezina is located in the city center of the historical town of Haarlem. The green Haarlem is situated in between Amsterdam and the beach. The ideal location for exploring the typical Dutch flower fields or the beach and visiting Amsterdam (only a 15 minute ride by train).
This historical boat has got a modern interior. The ship is warm and cozy. The entrance is at the salon with a dining table and a great view over the canal and the classical Dutch houses and buildings. Downstairs is a living room with table, chairs, couch, piano, guitar and stereo. The couch can be transformed in two good beds.
The kitchen is modern with ceramic cooking, a refrigerator, coffee machine and a dish washer. To make your arrival as convenient as possible in the kitchen you also find herbs, pots, pans, cups, glasses, plates, coffee and tea. A washing machine is also located in the kitchen.
Furthermore we have the bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower.
In the front of the ship is the master bedroom with a double bed, shelves and a wardrobe.
When the weather is good, you can sit on the deck of the ship. A small foldable table and chairs are also on board.
Parking is possible beside the ship or in a parking garage 100 m further. There are also parking spots for free in about 5 minutes driving from the ship.
The Berezina is a classical vessel, build in 1908 in the Netherlands. It was used as tugboat. The ship is in a very good condition and makes regular trips. A trip to, for example Amsterdam, is possible. Ask us about the possibilities and the extra costs.
The prices are all inclusive (your stay plus 25 euro for final cleaning): there will not be charged any additional fees.
Minimum stay is based on two person (Euro 115) For every extra person it costs 40 euro extra per night.
Children up to12 months: no charge. A baby bed is available and a children’s chair can be provided without extra costs.
Children between 1 year and 10 years: 20 euro per night
Two bikes for free to use

If you would like to have internet acces, a prepaid card is available from 10 euro and up.
very, very nice!
A very comfortable, spacious ship and a friendly and helpful captain. We'll definitely come again!
My friend and I spent a few memorable days in January on a boat!
It is an extraordinary experience for us. The old town atmosphere, comfy evenings and great morning! Ewald - the perfect host and friend.
Great experience to celebrate new years eve on a boat! Ewald was very helpful, boat was clean and offers everything you expect! haarlem is also a charming city..we enjoyed our trip a lot! thx!
Superb host, allways checking our needs and at our disposition for any request.
Amazing location, is really nice to relax in the upper cabin having a beer with an incredible view of the river after a day of city wandering.
I definitely recommend this ship for a stay in Haarlem.
Arriving somewhat stressed out from travelling on my own with 3 young kids, Ewalds relaxed manner and warm reception immediately put me at ease. The facilities and decor are really as good as on the pictures, if not better (plenty of storage for luggage!). Travelling in December I had been a bit concerned about cold and damp aboard, but the place was absolutely beatifully toasty with full-size radiators (run on bio-fuel). All controls were intuitive and easy to use. Comfy full-size beds, good shower, well equipped kitchen. Lovely details like piano and guitar on board and a few board games. Amenities like soap, tea and coffee available on arrival. Life vests for big and small, it is really very complete. The boat is also involved in a number of projects around green shipping practices, experimenting with reduction of drag and bio-fuels for example (highly educational!). The kids had an absolute blast and so did I (my 8-yr old: "best boat ever!"). We all wish we could have stayer longer. Thank you Ewald.
lovely clean place indeed, host also very pleasant, but with a very limit service, price is a bit high.
This was such a fun experience! It's in a quiet spot in Haarlem and within walking distance to everything, including the train station. We really enjoyed having coffee or wine on the deck, watching the boats go by. Captain Ewald was super responsive through the entire booking process, and checked in with us regularly while we were there to make sure all was well. He even provided a third bicycle without us asking (there were 3 of us). He clearly loves Haarlem and provided us helpful maps, brochures, and even called a well-priced taxi for us the day we left to drive us to the airport, after we asked his opinion about another service we'd found online. The boat was more spacious than I had realized, but I agree with others that it's best for 2-3 people, or a family with kids. You are on a boat, so there are things you have to remember like turning on the pump before taking a shower, etc. but I found it all easy to handle. We did not have internet service on board, but there are plenty of cafes with wireless around and I understand he is working on it. Very, very clean, updated, and well stocked. I highly recommend staying here!
Haarlem is a great little town, perfectly located between Amsterdam and the beach. The Berezina is a great way to experience them all: a nice boat with all the necessary facilities and an amazing location right in the town center. It does get a little warm inside, but then again, we were blessed with unusually hot summer weather, with afternoon temperatures rising up to 35 degrees Celsius.
Best of all though is Captain Ewald, an unbelievably nice host, helpful way beyond the call of duty.
The boat experience was amazing, it had all the facilities needed. Harleem itself is a beautiful city with loads to do in terms of places to eat and drink, museums, the main church, windmill etc.
The boat also had a lot of pamphlets of things to do, a set of bikes, and is a 10-20minute train ride away from Amsterdam.
The only things I would say was that there is no wi-fi availiable. It is also not very private. It basically has one double bed in it's own room and one single bed in the lounge room that everyone wals through and that is all. The bathroom windows can be seen through and you can't flush toilet paper down the toilet. I would receommend a couple as oppossed to a group of friends and also maybe 2-3 days max. I think 4 was a bit much as well as the fact that I ended up with motion sickness but that is only because I am not used to being on a boat. Other than that a very comfortable bed, hot water, loads of kitchen facilities, a washing machine and dish waher is availiable and it is in the heart of the city.
To bad that I was not able to meet you personaly. Then I would have the oppertunity to organize your stay to an optimum.
Although the wifi is working fine when we use it, some guest told us that it did not work very well for them. That's why we descided that we start providing prepaid mobile internet cards (from 10 euro). We are sorry that this did not work out for you.
The bed in the lounge room can be made in a double bed too. If more privacy is wished, we can provide a roomdevider. This was not present at you stay because you where with two.
The bathroom window is very small and on the waterside, but if you felt unprivate then we are sorry about that. We never got this question before otherwise we already organized something.
A ship like this is an unique place and indeed not extremely spacious. Although we also hosted some groups and families for a longer periode which were very satisfied, we can imagine that not everybody is the same. We hope to welcome you back on board some other time and you have some special memmories to take home.
Warm regards, Ewald Vonk
