Stayed at Bonnie's house for a weekend get away for my birthday with family. We enjoyed our stay. House was clean, hot tub was perfect temperature and ready for use. We used the bbq to cook most our food which worked out well because the house is a little light on pots and pans although there was plenty of eating utensils. Heater works well in bedrooms but the living room didn't seem to warm up. Over all we had a great time and would stay here again
We had a great time during our stay! We especially enjoyed the hot tub, which felt great after long days of skiing or hiking. Bonnie also gave us a great recommendation for a pet sitter, which made it a lot easier for us to get out for ski trips. There were also some very nice wooded areas within a couple of blocks of the house that were great for dog walks.
Tl;dr: Overall, this was an ok place to stay; I wouldn’t recommend it to friends or return. I think it needs a bit more attention and care, and there are lots of nicer places to stay in the area (some of them on other sites). It has a ton of potential, though!
My husband and I did have a nice time at Bonnie’s house. It was just the two of us, so we had a lot of space. It was very easy to find, and conveniently located close to restaurants and supermarkets in South Lake Tahoe. We didn’t do a lot of cooking, but it looked like there was a lot of cookware and kitchen supplies. We ended up staying a few days longer in Tahoe at another rental, so my review is somewhat colored by that experience, because that second rental was *so* much nicer (and less expensive).
PROS: central downtown S. Lake Tahoe location (if that’s what you’re looking for); was easy to find; well-equipped kitchen; Roku; wifi-worked okay; hot tub worked well; everything was as described.
CONS: was not very clean (it wasn't filthy just not as clean as other Airbnbs); not much of a guest handbook or directions for anything (we needed to youtube the hot tub instructions); VERY loud heating system (if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you); toilets flush quite poorly.
We had a great time at Bonnie's place. We were only three people, so we had plenty of room. The place is nicely furnished and we loved having the hot tub. The place is well provisioned for guests -- it has all the things you're likely to forget (dish soap, sponge, etc). FYI, it's a little light on pots and pans if you're doing a lot of cooking. The location is good. Overall, we had a great time and I'd definitely stay there again.
My wife, our dog, and two of our good friends stayed at Bonnie's Tahoe Getaway over President's Day weekend. Bonnie was a quick communicator and was upfront about a hot tub maintenance problem right before our trip started - however, she had the issue fixed before we arrived, which was most appreciated! We quite enjoyed the location as it was close to a lot of things to do, but just far enough away so that it was quiet and peaceful. The photos and description provide an accurate overview of the place. We'd stay here again.
The house was great! Could have fit way more than the five people and tiny dog who ended up staying (oops on our part). Nighttime entertainment options were great, the kitchen was well-stocked, and communication with Bonnie was great.
We were bummed that the hot tub seemed to be on the fritz when we were there, but Bonnie was easily reachable via text and we made do with long showers (hat tip for the amazing shower heads!). Wonderfully comfortable and cozy. Thanks!
House was perfect for a week of skiing!! As others have mentioned in previous reviews, the location is perfect. The store is just down the street, and the casinos are a short cab ride away which was aways easy to coordinate. Wifi & AT&T service didn't work well, but it wasn't needed much while on vacation. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends & colleagues.
I live in beautiful San Francisco, CA. I love lazy days in the sunshine in the summer time and lounging with a cold beverage by a body of water; beach, pool, river, it doesn't matter. In the winter, I love snowboarding! I also love to travel, find interesting foods to eat. I'm an avid bargain shopper and group vacation planner. My greatest love is for my family and my baby boy.
