The apartment is well planned for a group of 4-5 people, as long as some sleep in the same bed. The beds are also comfortable and the appliances in the kitchen work well.
However, the overall "standard" of the apartment is somewhat below par. The TVs are very old, the wireless network barely work in several rooms and the bathrooms could be a little bit fresher.
Finally, the apartment is in the boring part of Alphabet City and it's a long walk to the closest metro station.
Loved my stay at Lynn's gorgeous 3 bedroom apartment in NYC. Couldn't fault it! We were met at the apartment by Evelyn who was extremely helpful - even providing some restaurant recommendations in the area which we gladly took her up on! Only three of us stayed, and found the size of the apartment to be extremely comfortable and spacious. Having read some other comments re: WIFI, yes it was weak in two of the bedrooms but only if the bedroom door was closed. We had strong connections in the lounge room and the third bedroom. Suited us well! Kitchen was full of utensils and equipment which enabled us to make quick breakfasts at home. Tonnes of great restaurants, bars and markets in the area. Subway was quite a long walk away, but we took to catching quick cabs everywhere. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks for everything Lynn & Evelyn!
The stay at this Apartment was very nice and cosy. Its a bit to walk to the metrostation, but there is a bus around the corner, so you easily get to every place of (email hidden)ere are lots of restaurants and a supermarket around. The east village is a nice place to live and the neighborhoud very calm. With six adults it fits comfortable.
We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It was clean, warm, comfortable and exactly as it appears in the pictures. Evelyn was waiting for us on arrival. So much better than paying a fortune for a tiny shoe box hotel room. The only negatives were it was a fair walk to the subway and the wifi doesn't work well, but this was mentioned in other reviews so not a surprise at all. As a group of girls we felt safe and very comfortable here. Loved the local bars, restaurants and bagel store nearby. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we had a ball
Excellent location, value and size-very well managed and Evelyn was so helpful and charming-5 STARS!
great location, very quite street. i slept on the street side with open window and awoke by the birds.
the three sleeping rooms are big enough and gives you a feeling of privacy when you are traveling with friends.
the furniture is nice chosen, good taste, but might a little shabby for some. beds are fine. the kitchen has any basic instrument except a dish washer.
we were welcomed by a friend of the owner and gave us clear instructions and information.
the wifi is only usable in the living room and slow.
This is a great neighborhood in the Alphabet City area of the East Village between Avenues C and D. The block towards Ave D and Ave D itself is very seedy but safe enough. As you walk towards Ave C things improve rapidly. There is a very nice large and famous park (Thompkins) a couple blocks away where there are all kinds of interesting things going on from live concerts to art exhibitions. Numerous bars and restaurants close by and a vibrant night life. The main disadvantage of this location is the almost 1 mile walk to the nearest subway stop although there is a crosstown bus at Ave D very close. Take a $15 cab ride from Penn station with your luggage instead. There is a nearby hop-on hop-off tour bus stop on 2nd Ave which goes straight to Rockafeller Center in 20 min or so if you decide to go that route.
The apartment itself was definitely well worn but clean enough. This is not a luxury apartment by any means but it was comfortable and spacious enough for 7 adults. The hostess Evelyn showed up as agreed and was helpful.
