About This Listing
Bright, sunny, and spacious townhouse close to downtown Durham, Chapel Hill, and RTP. New porch furniture just in time for spring and summer!
Stay in one of the most beautiful townhouses in Durham. The sun fills the house with natural ambient light and the house rests in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood surrounded by walking and biking trails. I'm a half mile from a running/biking trail that is a straight shot to downtown Durham, featuring the American Tobacco Campus, numerous award-winning restaurants and the Durham Bulls Stadium. By car, downtown is a mere 10 minutes away, though you can also make it by bike in 15-20 minutes depending on the trails you choose.
Need to get to RTP? Yep, it's only 15 minutes away by car. You could even bike if you desired. Also close: Southpoint Mall (5 minutes—and also bikeable/walkable), your choice of 4 major grocery stores, a Wal-Mart, and a movie theater.
We have a master bedroom and bath and two other bedrooms, all with queen beds. The couch in the living room is a pullout sofa, and there's a chaise lounge in the "man cave" downstairs that is quite comfortable as well.
In addition to these bedrooms, you'll have access to a great front-loading washer and dryer, a fully-equipped kitchen to prepare meals, and a gorgeous porch on which to enjoy the summer air (new porch furniture!!).
Come stay for a long weekend, a week, or an extended sublet.
The Master Bedroom is quite the treat. Fully furnished with a walk-in closet and large master bath. Large bathtub which is great to relax in and enjoy the evening. Extremely serene and tranquil room - sleeps like a dream!
The are two upstairs bedrooms that can be customized for your stay. Big closets, lots of sunshine, and great windows. The rooms are on the north side of the house and overlook the neighborhood's green space and one of the walking trail parks.
The potential 4th room is in the basement -- extremely cool in the summer. Very private. Do note that it is a converted storage area, and there are no exterior windows. Ideal for that friend of yours that stays up super late and just needs the room to crash in for the evening.
If watching movies is more your thing, the living room is a wonderful place to kick back and relax.
Parking is available in the 2-car garage, or on the street in front of the house.
Wireless Internet, Washer/Dryer, Kitchen Appliances, Outdoor Porch/Patio, Lawn Games. We do not have an outdoor grill.
Interaction with Guests
Glad to interact with guests as much or as little as desired. Happy to meet you at the house to give you the keys and then get out of your way. If I need to visit the house while you're staying, I will notify you with as much advance notice as possible.
Friendly, safe, quiet neighborhood. Lovely community with great access to walking and running trails.
Are you a runner? There's tons of trails, and you can easily run anywhere from 2.2 to 26.2 miles, should you choose to do so. I'm glad to share some of my favorite routes with you (the 6 mile loop is particularly nice, as is the 4.5 miler).
Most important: no smoking!
I do have neighbors, and it is important to keep relatively quiet after 10 PM. Don't leave stuff (toys, lawn furniture, etc.) in the yard or out front of the house - against HOA rules.
It was great experience and beyond expectations. The stay was as comforting as the host and he left no stone unturned to make us feel at home.
We were a family of five and space was apt for all of us.
I would highly recommend this place for people coming in for either Duke Graduations, staycations etc.
Thanks a ton, Jason!!!!

Jason was an excellent host. He communicated well before and during our stay. We were there for a graduation and it was much better than staying in a hotel. The kitchen is well stocked and allowed us to host a graduation party for 12. Highly recommended.
Spent four nights in Jason's home. It was easy to communicate with Jason. Apartment and keys left as promised. We were there for our son's duke graduation with extended family. This was very conveniently located and much better than staying in a hotel.

About the Host, Jason
I'm an ultimate-frisbee-playing, outdoor-loving foodie that enjoys his work as the digital strategy director for a nonprofit, dogs, and brunch. Love traveling to outdoor destinations and backcountry camping.
Favorite city in the world is Melbourne, Australia. Also enjoy Boulder, CO, Washington, DC, Auckland, New Zeland, Tuscon, AZ, and any trail where you can hike two hours and not see a soul.
Believe that people must be kind to one another, it's the only way to live. Enjoys laughter, craft beers, bourbon, sunsets, and night hikes. Travels best when prepared with map and compass. Orienteering is a sport (really).
