My work: Manager/Chef at the Borland House
Lives in Montgomery, New York
The Borland House B&B is a legitimate certified Inn in the Hudson Valley and our focus is local farm-to-table food experiences. This beautiful mansion was formerly owned by a Congressman and General and was built in 3 parts the first in the 1790's. The Frumes family took over this Inn just recently and we have been transforming it into a warm environment that highlights culinary creativity. Anna, the chef trained in Southern France, was born into a restaurant owned by Larry & Sylvia who you will be lucky to meet if they are not out traveling the world. Growing up in the countryside, the family planted fruits and vegetables in the family garden, raised animals for market and hunted wild mushrooms in the forest. Academically trained in sciences and international affairs at the University of California, Berkeley and Columbia University, Anna continued developing culinary skills through hands-on experience in home kitchens around the world. From living in Polynesia, Spain and Ukraine to learning in home kitchens in Thailand, Costa Rica, India, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Turkey and a dozen other countries, Anna has cultivated a memorable rustic comfort food menu at the B&B. A former director of California Winemasters at Paramount Studios, Anna worked with fine restaurateurs and winemakers world-wide and just recently finished as a culinary instructor to start this bed & breakfast. The AIRBNB price does not include breakfast but every guest can order breakfast from our menu for an extra cost, or book a cooking class $50/person, 3-5 course farm-to-table private dinner $50-$75/person or enjoy S'mores in one of our 2 fire pits for $25.
