We *LOVE* hosting Airbnb guests - making friends from around the world, and close to home. Whether you opt to stay with us, or elsewhere, I'm confident you'll enjoy your trip to the stunning Monterey Peninsula.
We're on the MST bus line, so if you'd rather not drive, the #1 express stops right outside our gates at :21 after the hour until 7pm. Additionally, we have a couple of local cab services and I believe we also have Uber available.
You should know a couple things....
1. We live in the main house full-time, and have a dog. Though our dog does not go in the guest cottage, if you suffer from pet allergies you should know that a dog does roam the yard from time to time, and there might have been a guest pup in the cottage prior to your reservation. Though we do clean the cottage thoroughly between guests, it is certainly likely that allergens could still be present.
2. Additionally, you should know that approximately once per week (usually Thursdays or Fridays) we have our weekly yard service. Sometimes the maintenance is relatively quiet (raking, trimming, etc.) and sometimes the situation is far more noisy (leaf blowers, weed whackers, fence repair, and the like). Most guests haven't minded, but someone mentioned it recently and we figured going forward, our guests should know what to expect.
You're welcome to the cottage and the private patio.
Interaction with Guests
We are typically available for assistance should you need anything (and we're happy to help you make the most of your time here with recommendations), however, there are occasions where we might not be in town. Generally, we have a caretaker in the main house if we are not going to be present, should anything go awry. We always let guests know ahead of time when we won't be in town, and we're generally reachable by phone/email/text regardless.
Other Things to Note
We are just wrapping up an addition to the main house, and at this point, the only thing affecting guests is an electrical issue preventing some of the exterior lights from working. This should be remedied sometime early February 2016.
No smoking (even outside) - unhealthy for all of us, and living in California, often have doors/windows open.
Please keep noise levels respectful - we are located in a (mostly) peaceful residential neighborhood where the main source of noise is the crashing of the surf!
If you arrive past 7pm, please do not ring our doorbell - we have a (hopefully) sleeping toddler, and a barky little dog (rough combo!). We will have hung signs to guide you back to the cottage, or feel free to call/text/email us and we're happy to assist you.
