This is a lovely comfortable apartment which is about a 30 minute walk to the Old City. Lots of light and openness including a small balcony. Very close to several bus lines, supermarkets, parks. It is a 5 minute walk to the tiyelet promenade with a breathtaking view of the Old City.

Available for people who need to be in quarantine.

The space
The apartment has a large living room and kitchen. There are actually two bedrooms in the apartment. I stay in one and the other is for guests. If you need the second bedroom, I can move out for a certain amount of time. If you want the apartment for a period of isolation, I will arrange to sleep somewhere else. The apartment will be yours alone.

Location

Jerusalem, Jerusalem District, Israel

I live in the Talpiot neighborhood just south of the Old City of Jerusalem. It is a few minute walk to a beautiful promenade and park with an inspiring view of the city. There is a supermarket and a few mini-markets, a pizza place, and other eateries nearby. I live close to the Baka neighborhood and near to the Old Train station which is now a center for free entertainment, music, dance, restaurants, bars, crafts, children's rides, etc.

I grew up in America and came to live in Israel when I was 30. Married, divorced, 4 adult children and one grandchild. Before that I hitchiked around the world for 2 years staying with many people. When I returned to Washington, I started a collectively run, anti-profit, community, Kosher restaurant which ran on the basis of workers self management and was the best work environment that I have ever experienced. Lived in London for a year before coming to live in Israel. I have held a good number of jobs in the non-profit world and try my best to improve society and myself. I try to laugh rather than cry at the absurd in the world. I am curious about everything and try to understand what makes people tick. I have hosted more than 100 people on Airbnb. My guests really like me and I have several requests every week to host people. I love Israeli folk dancing and go out 3 or 4 times a week. Also movies and have a membership to the Jerusalem Cinemateque. I really like people and perhaps most of all trying to change the world. At least a little part of it. If I am home and have time, I might be able to show you some of the city.

During your stay
If I am home, I am very available. I can give a lot of information about what to see and do in Jerusalem and in all of Israel. I like talking to people about Israel, history, current events, life in general. i also like to hear the stories of guests. If I am home, the stay includes bed and breakfast. Not only that but I usually supply dinner as well. I like to cook and always have food available for my guests if I am home. I think that I provide a very unique stay which is not just a bed but also half board.

If I am not in the country, you have the whole apartment to yourselves. If you need the apartment for quarantine purposes, it can be arranged for you to have it alone.
