Additional Details:
- Bring your pets, we welcome four-legged buddies! To help keep the space super clean for the next guests and to account for wear and tear, we ask that you cover a $100 pet fee.
- Stairs down to the cabin may be difficult for guests with limited mobility
- The Great Northern Railway still runs and the train tracks are close, it's normal to hear the train rumble by
- This property features 2 exterior security cameras, located on the side of the cabin facing the stairs on the hill and on the back side of the cabin facing the secondary back deck stairs. They do not look into interior spaces
- Our space is small and cozy, as the photos advertise, especially the bedroom as we prioritized a queen bed for added sleeping comfort. Guests give us accolades for furnishing it efficiently given its size and we aim to represent the space as accurately as possible here and in the photo gallery.
- In the winter months our neighborhood roads are well-plowed. Nonetheless, All-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive vehicles or bringing chains is recommended as we can't predict snow and ice storms and road conditions in those times can be tough, even with the plowing. Given we're in a remote mountain area, these storms can also cause trees to fall on power lines and power (and wifi) outages can occur.
- Summers are getting hotter, and it's important to note that we don't AC in the whole cabin. We provide a window AC unit for the bedroom window for extra sleeping comfort, 2-3 portable floor fans, and there are two ceiling fans to leverage as well (in the bedroom and living room). Side windows, bedroom window, and kitchen window can be opened for a cross-breeze.
- We recently invested in hooking up to our neighborhood's community well in order to be able to provide potable (drinkable) water. Some guests might detect a more metallic scent from the tap / shower, it is simply the natural minerals in the water. The well is filtered, we filter it yet again on our property, and if there's sensitivity, we provide a Brita filter in the fridge as well.

The Canyon Falls neighborhood is double-gated and a great place to explore. Full-time residents and guests alike have access to its Public Beach at the end of the gravel road, with stunning views of Mt Index on a river rock beach. They also have access to the Canyon Falls, a glacial waterfall that would be tremendously popular if the public knew it existed and had access to it! We also have the active Great Northern Railway train tracks which adds to the PNW ambiance; we all love it. The neighborhood is safe for kids and dogs. It's a treasure. We run into neighbors from the other side of the river (from a different neighborhood) who mention all the time that they wish they could find property inside our gated community as it is both nicer and sunnier!

Fun fact: Our toddler's sour berry face went viral
Speaks English and French
In 1951 our grandpa Pete had the first recorded traverse of the Three Peaks of Mt Index with his friend Fred Beckey. Standing on the deck on our first day as owners we learned that the very mountain we were looking up had some incredible family history. Thus our name inspiration! We wanted to prioritize giving our three little girls familiarity with the beautiful outdoors here in the Cascades > a precious family business was born.
