City meets suburb...in the city.
Quiet tree-lined street in the heart of DC but far away enough from all of the bustle. House is equipped with a full kitchen, 2 sunrooms, a deck, yard, washer and dryer, wi-fi, on and off street parking and TONS of sunlight.
1 mile from Petworth, Ft. Totten, and Takoma Metro Stations. 2 bus lines within a block.
Guests have access to the whole house, with the exception of our bedrooms. We invite you to use the kitchen, family room, TV, washer and dryer, deck, yard, etc.
Interaction with Guests
We will possibly be present during your stay - we can tell you specifics for the dates that you request. Our level of interaction with guests depends on the guests - we usually interact enough to orient guests to the house and surrounding area and to answer any questions. However, we are also open to getting to know our guests further, and even sharing an occasional meal.
Basically, we are friendly and welcoming, but also we very much respect our guests' privacy.
•take off your shoes when entering the house
•wash your dishes immediately after use
•clean up after yourself in all common areas
•bring and use your own toiletries – ours are not for guest use
•no parties are allowed. We live in a quiet neighborhood.
You are welcome to:
•drink as much coffee and tea as you like – we have a selection of teas in the high cabinet over the stove, and coffee is inside the freezer door
•use the dishes and pots and pans to eat and cook
•store your food in the fridge, freezer, and pantry
•use our spices, salt, pepper, mustard, ketchup, or hot sauce (please replace anything you use the last of)
•do your laundry using the washer and dryer in the basement, but please provide your own laundry detergent
The perfect Air BnB experience. Jasmine and Allison are communicative and prompt prior to arrival and available for questions and advice if necessary but discreet and unobtrusive otherwise. The home and room are very clean an nicely appointed with clear, sensible house rules posted and a very thoughtful amenities kit provided for guests. The neighborhood is very quiet but also conveniently located for easy access to other parts of the city. They are also kind, thoughtful, an interesting people to interact with- All in all I offer the highest recommendation for a stay with them if you are planning to visit the DC area.
The location is good. You can easily access buses and transfer to subway. Close to Georgia Ave., you can hang out late or take midnight trains, flights and buses because Bus 70 is almost operated for 24 hr a day.
The room is spacious for one guest. I felt a little crowded because I shared the room with my partner.
Jasmine and Allison are great, easygoing and very friendly hosts. I'm glad to have this experience of staying with them. Thank you all.
The home is clean, charming, and Jazz was extremely welcoming! I loved that they made a list of suggestions of places to visit, transportation tips, and even made a little welcome package which was placed on the desk of the guest room. The guest room had three windows and really good airflow, so we slept really comfortably at night. The house is right around the corner from a bus stop that takes you to a station on the red line of the Metro rail, which was very convenient.
Allison and Jasmine were very welcoming, smiling and helpfull hosts. Their apartment is very clean and well equipped. It was a pleasant stay with Allison and Jasmines.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed staying here very much. The room was clean, cozy, and very spacious. We appreciate Jasmine and Allison's hospitality as well. :-)
Jasmine and Allison are just wonderful! Their home is immaculately clean, whilst still being warm and welcoming. It really was a pleasure staying here and Alex and I would recommend it without reservation. I only wish we could have stayed longer and had more time to swap travel stories!
Both this home & the area are so serene. With flowers, grass, trees, and lots of birds chirping, I never expected such a hidden DC gem. There's a wonderful backyard and view. Jazz and Allison are lots of fun too, and also have a very smart book collection in case you like to read!

We are two women who love to travel and love meeting people from around the world, which is one reason we chose to become AirBnB hosts. We are quiet and neat; we treat our hosts' homes as our own when travelling, and expect our guests to do the same with our home. We both work full time and are involved in other activities, but when we're at home you'll usually find us cooking, watching a movie, or studying/reading in the sunroom.
Jasmine says: I joined AirBnB on a whim and it was such a great decision. We've had the opportunity to host some great people and stay at some fabulous places abroad and in the US. I teach by day and dream of travel by night. Summers, for me, are meant for exploration. I love to eat, travel, cook, learn, and sleep. I thank God that I am able to do all of that and more. We welcome anyone, from anywhere, as long as you are respectful and know how to keep things clean.
Allison says: My five favorite places in the world (other than my family's home) are - Dakar, Senegal, Flores, Indonesia, Luang Prabang, Laos, Hanoi, Vietnam, and Kerala, India. I love to eat, especially food from countries I've visited or hope to visit. I read a lot - from neuroscience texts to historical fiction to biographies to young adult fiction. I work at the same Montessori bilingual public charter school as Jazz.
