The Space

Quiet tree-lined street in the heart of DC but far away enough from all of the bustle. House is equipped with a full kitchen, 2 sunrooms, a deck, yard, washer and dryer, wi-fi, on and off street parking and TONS of sunlight.

1 mile from Petworth, Ft. Totten, and Takoma Metro Stations. 2 bus lines within a block.

  • My boyfriend and I enjoyed staying here very much. The room was clean, cozy, and very spacious. We appreciate Jasmine and Allison's hospitality as well. :-)

  • Jasmine and Allison are just wonderful! Their home is immaculately clean, whilst still being warm and welcoming. It really was a pleasure staying here and Alex and I would recommend it without reservation. I only wish we could have stayed longer and had more time to swap travel stories!

  • Both this home & the area are so serene. With flowers, grass, trees, and lots of birds chirping, I never expected such a hidden DC gem. There's a wonderful backyard and view. Jazz and Allison are lots of fun too, and also have a very smart book collection in case you like to read!

  • Jasmine and Allison were very welcoming and gracious hosts. The house is spotless, and there was even coffee in the morning.

The bus stop was about 3 stops away, and the bus ride about 30 minutes to the national archives.

    I'd recommend this location.

  • Thank you Jazz and Allison. My stay was awesome. I was very pleased with everything. This was my first experience but everything went better than expected. Thanks again for your hospitality and the texts with help on the metro, lol!

  • Jasmine and Allison's home was, indeed, cozy, quiet, and comfy. They are both lovely people, were very accommodating of my late arrival due to a travel snag, and provided a nice little guest box in the room. They provided area and publications to help acquaint me with D.C.
I was in town solo for business as well as over the weekend. The access to public transit was adequate but not as convenient as I would have liked, and I was hoping for a coffee shop within walking distance. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

  • This was a great place to stay and I only wish we'd had a chance to get to know Allison and Jasmine a bit more. The place is cozy, comfortable, and super duper clean! I really liked it. Plus there were nice touches like toothbrushes and shampoo in case we might have forgotten ours. This neighborhood is nice and we did a run up past the Old Soldiers Home and into Ft. Totten park, plus it is very metro-accessible.

We stayed over Thanksgiving, and only got to meet Jasmine and speak with her a bit as our bus arrived late to DC. She was very accommodating about our late arrival, helpful, gave us lots of advice, and was friendly. It was really nice to have smartcards available for us to use also as I hadn't realized the charge is different for those vs. the little paper cards. This was a great place to stay, and I would definitely recommend it!

  • We had a great stay at Allison and Jazz' house.
They are friendly hosts and pay attention to details to make us feel at home.
The info they prepared concerning transportation, what to see, suggestions of restaurants and the house rules was very useful.
The house is cozy and clean and located in a quiet neighborhood. Our room was as spacious and bright as in the pics. We also appreciated that we could use kitchen, it was practical.
This was our first Airbnb experience and are really happy about it.

  • An Excellent Air BnB experience overall. Everything you could want in a stay- clean, private, well appointed accommodations, gracious and friendly hosts, and excellent location. Allison and Jazz were exceptional hosts, establishing clear house rules while allowing maximum freedom and access to all the house amenities. There was no pressure to interact if you prefer privacy, but they are also very kind, intelligent, and interesting people willing to talk and share suggestions or recommendations should you need them. I highly recommended their space to anyone visiting the Washington DC area.

We are two women who love to travel and love meeting people from around the world, which is one reason we chose to become AirBnB hosts. We are quiet and neat; we treat our hosts' homes as our own when travelling, and expect our guests to do the same with our home. We both work full time and are involved in other activities, but when we're at home you'll usually find us cooking, watching a movie, or studying/reading in the sunroom. Jasmine says: I joined AirBnB on a whim and it was such a great decision. We've had the opportunity to host some great people and stay at some fabulous places abroad and in the US. I teach by day and dream of travel by night. Summers, for me, are meant for exploration. I love to eat, travel, cook, learn, and sleep. I thank God that I am able to do all of that and more. We welcome anyone, from anywhere, as long as you are respectful and know how to keep things clean. Allison says: My five favorite places in the world (other than my family's home) are - Dakar, Senegal, Flores, Indonesia, Luang Prabang, Laos, Hanoi, Vietnam, and Kerala, India. I love to eat, especially food from countries I've visited or hope to visit. I read a lot - from neuroscience texts to historical fiction to biographies to young adult fiction. I work at the same Montessori bilingual public charter school as Jazz.
