About this listing
This private bedroom has a queen size bed, a table with a chair and reading lamp, two windows and a closet with built in shelving.
The Cherry Hill House is a duplex located in the Cherry Hill/ Capitol Hill/ Central District neighborhood of Seattle. Some people even call it Pill Hill because of its proximity to the hospitals (one of which is right across the street). But it is technically not Pill Hill, it is just south of Capitol Hill, by about a five minute bike ride or a 20 minute walk.
The kitchen has a big fridge, electric stove, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, cookware, dishes and flatware, an island with a sink and stools for bar seating, and a deck out back (with landscaping that is in progress during the summer months).
Due to our work schedules, the room will be ready by 5pm, but you can always leave your bags inside the main house in the entry way earlier if you like. So check in is technically at 5pm, but that means check out is later, too - at 2pm.
In the main house, there are two bedrooms. One is off to the left of the kitchen and is listed on airbnb. The other is occupied by a woman named Erinn, who lives in the bedroom across from the bathroom, which is down the hall off to the right of the kitchen. Erinn is a 30 something sweetheart, very laid back, and works at the University of Washington. She has one cat - Aza, who is friendly, fat and happy, and goes in and out through the cat door in the back. This is why we say that there are cats here - they are not in the cabin, but Aza does roam in the main house and outside.
There is also a cabin in the back that is listed on airbnb occasionally. This is who you will share the kitchen and bathroom with, so if any questions or issues come up and I am not around, Erinn is super friendly and happy to help.
There is also an area of the living room that has a bed behind a large shelving unit that is listed on airbnb. There is a little cabin in the front yard that is also listed on airbnb.
Of course, the kitchen and bathroom are used by these folks and the number of people who are around varies quite dramatically, since Erinn's work schedule has her out of the house as early as 5am some days.
We have wifi throughout the premises and we are right on the bus lines to Pioneer Square, Downtown, the University District, and the Eastside. Laundry available on site for $2 per load. You be hard pressed to find a better deal in this neighborhood for a private bedroom all to yourself.
*Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am.
*Guest will be charged a $75 fee if their key is missing after their stay.
*You may use the kitchen and fridge but you must clean up after yourself.
*Also, keep in mind that street parking in the neighborhood is free but it is 2hr parking between 8am and 6pm, Monday thru Saturday. This means that you can park your car from as early as 4pm on the street and leave it till as late as 10am the next day without any issues. You must move your car every two hours between 10am and 4pm to avoid a ticket, tho.
*Please note that this is not a party house. We get up early here so no boozin' it up all hours of the night. ( I realize most of us don't behave like this but I feel it deserves mentioning.)
*If you have a guest over (such as your girlfriend or boyfriend) you must let me know as there is a per guest charge.
The room was amazing. It was very spacious, and had great lighting. While I never got the chance to meet the host, her housemate was very hospitable and knowledgeable. Out the front yard, there are very cute sculptures that greet you.
You don't need a car to stay here. It's a great neighborhood that's accessible to public transit, as two bus routes stop within a block of the house (although they have varying frequencies, especially on Sunday). However, the neighborhood is relatively far from vital goods and services, but can still be accessed by walking.
The room was what I expected - simple, clean, very comfortable bed and the area was quiet.
The neighbourhood is well served by transit which is good - i also walked from the accommodation to Pike Market and it took me one hour - good walk.
Monika responded promptly and Erinn was very helpful.
I would definitely stay there again. This was my first Airbnb experience and I will be using it again an again.

I was only at the house for one night, but the house was exactly what I was looking for at the time: a good place to crash before catching an early flight. Totally recommend it.
It was a good experience. The place is clean and tidy. I would highly recommend it for a budget traveller.
Fine place to crash and rest up for adventures around Seattle! Shared the one bathroom with 4-5 other folks which was a bit of a dance but manageable.
By mutual agreement following a telephone conversation the day of arrival, I did not stay in the home.
Generally it is great! The white curtain is missing ... Also there are other Airbnb guests living in other rooms and carbins attached with the house, so sharing the only ONE single bathroom with 5 to 6 people means relatively long waiting time, especially in the morning
