The Daniel A. Anderson Carriage House: Built in 1885, this 1200 sq ft brick building held horses/carriages for the Andersons. Now totally remodeled, while preserving the original charm. Located in the Belle Grove Historic District, within walking distance of all the best Downtown Fort Smith has to offer: the new Marshalls' Museum, shops, music, Natl. Historic Site, River Park, bike/walking trails, restaurants, & more! Great for families, couples, or solo travelers who love historic houses!

The space
Enjoy the experience of staying in this 135-year-old house that’s connected with all the history of downtown Fort Smith.

The fully renovated house features reverse living, central heat and air, vintage appliances, and exposed brick. On the second floor there’s a spacious, fully-stocked kitchen and living area, two bedrooms with queen beds, and a bathroom.

Downstairs, there’s a large multipurpose room that features a natural slate floor, sleeper sofa, recliners, hammock chair, smart Roku TV (with free Netflix & Disney+), X-box, and a natural gas stove. It can also be used as a bedroom and has twin bunk beds. There’s also a laundry closet with washer and dryer - and a spacious one-car garage - on the first level.

Keyless access for easy check-in and check out.

Guest access
The whole house is accessible to guests including the attached one car garage. Shared back yard with main Anderson House.

Other things to note
You can park one vehicle in the garage and another in the driveway next to the Carriage House. If you have a third vehicle, please park along H St. to leave space for guests who may be staying at the Anderson (main) house.

Location

Fort Smith, Arkansas, United States

Inside of the historic district, where the street is lined with old-world lamp posts and unique old houses (take a quick stroll toward Garrison Avenue and see locally famous sites like “The Old Schoolhouse Apartments,” and “The Clayton House”). A well-lit basketball court and park with full playground is located a block away, and we are a quick walk from a favorite produce store, “Twin City Produce,” where you can grab what you need for a nice meal at home. We're located just a 1/2 mile away from the main strip Downtown (Garrison Ave.) where there is plenty to do - visit the Farmers Market or bakery district, visit the Park at West End, explore the Natl. Historic Site or the new Marshalls’ Museum, take your family to the splash pad, enjoy outdoor dining with live music, walk/bike the river trails, or stop by a brewery. We’d be happy to give restaurant recommendations based on your preferences! Check out this site to see all of the things to do downtown: http://thingstodoinfortsmith.com/downtown-fort-smith/
