Room In Loft Nr Brooklyn Waterfront

Loft - Private room · Pearl St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, United States

The Space

The space is a gorgeous converted factory building in an amazing part of NYC. All rooms have exposed brick walls, wooden flooring and high speed internet. There is an open plan kitchen and living room area with TV, Netflix, DVD.

You will have your own private bedroom within our loft and free use of the shared living area.

The space is on the 5th floor, accessible by walk up or old school freight elevator. It is for passenger use, but you will need a quick tutorial on how to use it correctly.

Dumbo is a great old New York neighborhood with panoramic views of the NYC skyline, 1 stop to Manhattan by subway, couple blocks walk to the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and minutes away from amazing waterfront parks, pebble beaches, ice cream factory, grimaldi's pizza, Jacques Torres chocolatier, banks, local design stores, art galleries and restaurants/bars.

*Dumbo ( Down Under the Manhattan/Brooklyn Bridge Overpass) is exactly as it is named. The area is between 2 iconic bridges - one which has trains pass over it. So for people who are sensitive to sound please keep that in mind.

Close to the subway- you will be 1 block from the F train ( only 1 stop to Manhattan) 2 blocks to the A/C train and 5 min walk to the 2/3 trains. You can be in Soho in 10 mins on the F.

Close to Empire Fulton Ferry- which has the NYC boat taxis and ferry services giving you access to all the waterfront stops in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Close to Pier 1 park - For bike rentals. Accessing the Greenway bike paths for Brooklyn and Manhattans Waterfront Greenway Bike path along the Hudson River.

I would suggest this place as great for guests/ travelers who want to discover the city as it is close to many great areas and sights- Chinatown, Little Italy, Brooklyn Bridge, Soho, Broadway, Williamsburg, East River Waterfront, Parks, Brooklyn Heights, Wall St etc and has the perfect New York vibe. For guests that are looking for office/ work space I would not recommend it.

  • We had a really good time at Chois place.
The appartment is amazing and everything was very clean. The room was spacious with enough storage for all our things. Choi is a great host ans she helped us out with lots of tipps.

  • This loft was in a great location, close to a lot of shops, restaurants, and the subway. The traffic on the bridge outside can be kind of loud but I actually don't remember hearing anything from inside. The loft itself was clean, spacious and quiet. Choi was an accommodating and unintrusive host.

  • We'd been too busy running a conference that we had just not got around to booking accommodation in New York for the days after the conference. Choi was so wonderful offering us the place in a few hours and also giving us early access so we were not stuck lugging our bags around.
Her place is wonderful; clean, spacious, homely. The room is exactly as its pictured. Here family welcoming. You can interact but also free to come and go as you please.
Choi helped us out with places to go and thing to see.
    Location fantastic to get around!
    A fantastic host. Highly recommended.
(The noise from the bridge is surprising, but we didn't have any trouble sleeping. It was almost hypnotic).

  • I had a wonderful time with Choi and her family. The apartment is simple, comfortable, beautiful and spacious. The location is perfect for access to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn like Cobble Hill. The sound of the bridge was surprising at first, but I had no trouble at all sleeping. Choi's family is very kind and easy-going.

I would definitely stay here again!

  • We had a wonderful experience staying with Choi and her family. They were very welcoming and graciously shared their space with our family. The loft is large and spacious and in a perfect location if you want to walk around and enjoy the waterfront, Brooklyn Bridge, or go into the city.

  • Choi is a friendly and helpful host. The apartment is clean, comfortable with modern furnishings and in an interesting part of Brooklyn close to a subway station with quick acces to the City. Trains passing on the bridge can be noisy but closing the window can fix that. Good value.

  • Choi's place in Dumbo is absolutely beautiful! It is very clean, spacious, conveniently located, and close to the F train! I was gone 90% of the time I had booked for my stay, however when I was at the loft at the same time as Choi and her family they were very nice, and incredibly respectful of my space and privacy. If I ever need to stay in that area of Brooklyn again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here, and I highly recommend it to others looking to stay in the area!

  • Choi was a good host. She emailed us a list of things we could do in brooklyn and recommended us to take the east ferry to williamsburg which we did. We loved the ferry ride!
The loft is huge and clean. The apartment had a smell of old bricks as it used to be an industrial building. In fact we smelt the same smell in many of the shops we walked into in New York. The smell is not that bad, just takes some getting used to. What was worse though is the loud sound of trains passing every 2 min as the building was located right next to the railway track. The frequency drops at night. I slept right through because I would be so tired by the time I came back but my husband had some problems with the sound. We shared the loft with another guy who rented the other room. There were no issues with that. The water pressure in the shower was not so good though and it was quite difficult to get a good hot shower. DUMBO itself is actually a very cool neighbourhood with a lot of shops that are hidden in buildings. E.g. the building opposite Choi's apartment had lots of stuff inside but unfortunately we only found out about it towards the end of our stay. We went to the smogasbord in DUMBO and chilled by the river. The view was gorgeous. Thanks for hosting us, Choi!

  • I stayed with Choi and her family for two weeks. I ended up staying in the other room without the desk, but other than that minor hiccup it was a most pleasant stay. They were gracious hosts, and the apartment is a great staging area for trips into Manhattan. With the window closed, I didn't find the noise from the overpass to be a problem at all. Thanks again!
