About this listing
Great, 2 large room suite with king bed, new jacuzzi bath and all the amenities you need. There's a mini fridge (for all your great local leftovers), microwave, coffee maker, tea pot, brita water and cable/wifi.
Renovated 2 large private rooms (parlor and bedroom) and full bath in a great location, with cafe & coffee shops nearby. The bedroom has a king size bed and the parlor room has a twin bed, if you need more sleep areas. I also have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The space has your own private locked entrance and is just off my front porch, which is a great spot to have your morning coffee or tea. Easy off-street parking, too.
I have 2 bikes you can use at your own risk, but you need to let me know before I leave for work so I can get them out for you. And I am asking for a $100 deposit if you use above the airbnb (to cover any loss/damage) and a $10/bike use fee to cover maintenance.
Also, if traveling w pet need to approve with me and there is another ($100) deposit for pets.
If you are a solo guest or staying longer than 6 days I will give you a break on price!
There is a lockbox on the inside of my front screen door, code is 0216 to get the keys.
Interaction with Guests
Not much, but I am around if you need me! I do work full-time, too.
The marigny is the greatest neighborhood and this space is all yours--its your own oasis in the front of my house w own entry. Easy and close (usually just in front of house) street parking. You can walk to the French quarter, frenchmen st., or just enjoy all the marigny has to offer. I have cable, wi-fi, central ac & am willing to consider pets.
Note: I have 2 dogs & 2 cats that are very friendly, but they stay in my living space.
This is a great place to stay for an authentic new Orleans experience in one of usa's best neighborhoods (look it up, it's true).
It is super easy to get around and ample street parking. Just make sure you park 15 feet from stop sign--they have been towing. I also have 2 bikes with locks you can use--the most fun, environmental way to get around...but, I had to add a $10 fee to keep up w maintenance of bikes and supplies. You can pay me cash and it's for the entire stay. This covers routine tune ups and replacement of supplies.
There is great public transportation--use the Marigny connection ((website hidden)). And the street car picks up along the river at the end of Esplanade by the wharf.
Here is the entire RTA map: (website hidden)_Around/RTA-SystemMap.pdf
For getting around one here--United cab is great (phone number hidden)) and this cabby was recommended: Nancy. (phone number hidden) (tell them Sarah and Dave recommended from staying in the Marigny).
Other Things to Note
The bikes are available, but req $10 per bike fee and are behind the fence with dogs SO you need to coordinate with me ahead of time if you want the bikes, so I can either introduce you to dogs, or pull bikes out for you before I head to work.
Please be kind and respectful because this is a residential neighborhood and we are sharing a front door entry. Also, the bedroom windows are directly next to my neighbor's side porch, so be careful with nudity (unless you are a voyeur!). Some guests (& neighbor) were surprised when they opened the blinds in the nude! This is a close neighborhood. :-)
The pets are in my personal space, but you could run into cats on porch and see my 2 dogs behind my fence.
I love New Orleans and am excited you are considering staying at my place, although you may not even see me bc you have your own private space (separate from my living space). I am happy to steer you in the right direction for food and music. I love my pets, so am happy to consider your furry travel companion. Your dog must be ok with cats, too, bc they often hang on the porch.
I'm an occupational therapist, but primarily teach (university), ride a motor scooter, and feel lucky to live in the Marigny/New Orleans.
