The House: warm, cozy home nestled in the redwoods in West Sonoma County. Centered among forests, wineries, the Pacific coast, Russian River and great restaurants. Solar powered! EV Charger (J-1772). No pets please. Please conserve water, as we are in a drought and the well is limited.

The space
A cozy 2-BR vacation house and garden in the sunny hills just west of Occidental in Sonoma County. Also known as the "Lark Nest". A lovely architect-designed retreat, with hardwood floors, a spacious, well-lit, open living/dining area and high ceilings. Large windows above the beautiful wood mantle bring the trees into the room. Front and rear decks offer sun and shade; rock walls create a beautiful, rustic terraced garden with a stone patio, surrounded by redwoods and oaks.

On Coleman Valley Road, the locals' favorite scenic route to the coast, Close to forests, famous nurseries, Occidental Arts and Ecology Center, great restaurants, quaint shops, local farmers' market, great hiking. Short drive (or ride) to ocean beaches, the Russian River and wineries. Great cycling—on the Tour of California and Grand Fondo route. High end road bike rentals available.

The area flourishes with great local food, wine, beer, bread, music and art.

Sleeps 4-6; Full kitchen, fireplace, cable TV, DVD, wi-fi internet, gas grille (BBQ), washer and dryer. Master Bedroom with queen bed, 2nd bedroom with full size (double) bed, full size futon in study. Two full baths, one with large tub/shower, one with shower. Towels and linens provided.

The Occidental and west Sonoma County area blends awesome natural beauty with exquisite cultural amenities. This area flourishes with great local food, wine, beer, bread, music and art. Lush redwood forests surround creeks and the Russian River, Which flow to the stunning Pacific Ocean. A feast for the senses.

Limited public bus service to Russian River area, Sebastopol, and Santa Rosa.

Great base for cyclists exploring the many beautiful roads and trails. High end bike rentals available.

I'm available via email, messaging, and phone, but the guests have the house to themselves. I might meet them at the house.

I love my vacation rental house; I built it for myself and it is special to me. I want others to enjoy it since I'm not currently living there. The location is in the heart of the beautiful, redwood-forested, artistic west county, close to the ocean, Russian River and wineries.
