The house and property
Interaction with Guests
The rental is for the house. I have a property manager that helps with any questions during your stay; lives in the neighborhood and is there for that purpose.
In the heart of the Catskills where fresh air, hiking trails and beautiful scenery abounds!
Most guests arrive by car. Public transportation is available to the general area but not directly to the house so I recommend having transportation for getting around the local area.. Amtrak stops at Rhinecliff. Buses stop in Kingston, both about 20-25mins from the house. This said, folks have arrived by cab and tucked away for the weekend and had a blast.
Other Things to Note
A cozy get away also so close to all the modern amenities make this the perfect get-away home! I am in the reserve everyone is responsible for their own trash removal..easy enough to do... But fees applied for failure to do so. Let's Keep things beautiful~

The Back Study Day Bed is a proper twin mattress, sleeps 1. The sleeping loft is with ladder access in the back study and also sleeps 1 with a trundle mattress. Living room sofa often functions as 7th (sometimes 8th) sleeping space.

We had a lovely time staying in this charming, rustic 1850's farmhouse in the Catskills. Barbara was very friendly and helpful in advance and we enjoyed having the flexibility to arrive at our leisure. We enjoyed walking on her acreage and even saw a mama bear and her two cubs! We had fun playing games and drinking wine in the living room, as well as having breakfast outside on the deck. The house is decorated and laid out so beautifully; it was perfect for our group of 7. It was the perfect family reunion and we only wish we could have stayed longer!
Barbara's farm house was magical. Exactly what we were looking for. Tons of space to feel luxurious, cosy and perfectly rustic to feel like an outdoorsy getaway and perfectly secluded. Kitchen and house and mountain was incredible. She was a huge help and answered any and all questions and always was able to lend a hand if need be. Thanks for an awesome experience. I'll be back soon!
Barbara is very friendly and welcoming. Barbara and Bill were very attentive to our needs. They made sure that we were comfortable and they responded to our questions and concerns very quickly. The neighborhood was everything that we expected and more, tranquil, clean. We had such a great time at the farmhouse. Especially trying to climb the mountain with snow. The sense of peace and beauty that surrounded us was amazing. We would certainly recommend this house to my friends and family looking for a place to relax and get back to nature. Thank you Barbara for allowing us to stay in your home.
First off, had a great time. House was easy to get to but still secluded enough. Really appreciated home-cooked meals, chipping wood, building fires, and hiking on the property. Barbara and the cabin manager are easily accessible. Definitely looking forward to coming back when it's warmer.
Thanks again, B!
Rustic, quirky and SECLUDED! We had an amazing time at the house! Built circa 1850 it is just chock full of charm. The fireplace is the centerpiece and we used it for literally 3 days straight. Kitchen is FULLY equipped to handle the most elaborate meals as we made every meal there for 3 days! The grounds are lovely with some really ancient, beautiful rock formations out back which we explored. Lots of great books and movies to curl up with and just forget about city life. Moonlight and silence will let you decompress with ease. Barbara was a great communicator and everything is laid out so you'll have no worries! Wish we could have met her! Next time! : )
Here's a fun little tidbit about the house: There is a perfect circular hole above the fireplace that looks directly under the bed in the master bedroom upstairs, try to guess what it was for! Enjoy!
We had a wonderful experience staying at this super cozy little farmhouse. We love to cook, and the kitchen was perfectly adequate. Barbara was communicative and friendly throughout the whole process and I would definitely recommend this listing.
