Nestled deep into Cimarron cattle country, Lea and Matt have a wonderful Mountain Log Cabin. Breathtaking panoramic views of the adjacent mountain make this house an ideal place to get away. The house is 14 miles down a gravel road off of Route 50 (approximately 35 min drive to the highway), and was an ideal location for day trips to Gunnison, Montrose, Ridgeway, and Ouray. Make sure you follow Lea's directions, as your GPS will not work once exiting Route 50! During our trip we also visited Crested Butte (2.5 hrs), Hartman Rocks (1 hr), Uncompahgre National Forest (2 hrs), Black Caynon (1 hr), and Ice Lakes (3 hrs).
Lea and Matt were extremely accommodating and welcoming upon our arrival, as well as throughout the trip. The cabin comfortably fit the 5 adults on our trip. The house also has a full kitchen and gas grill, great for cooking in each night, so make sure you go to a grocery store in Montrose or Gunnison before your arrival!
Lea's rental is in the perfect area for so many mountain activity's and has beautiful views from all the large decks. Could not have found a better home to use for my vacation to this area. Would highly recommend this rental to anyone visiting the Cimarron area.
Also Lea was waiting for us upon arrival and showed us around and talked to us about the attractions in the area, also she had breakfast items for our stay.
Cannot go wrong renting this home.
About the Host, Lea
We had the pleasure of first visiting Montrose and the Big Cimarron Valley in 1984, after we were married. It was our vacation spot of choice during the season we lived in Texas, until 2003,then in Greece until 2005, when we were privileged to move to Montrose. We live in town and have our Log Home just 45 minutes away! From (phone number hidden), we were actively involved in the building process! We have 4 children: 2 sons who have graduated college, and 2 daughters; one in college and one in high school.
We do travel, and are happy that our dear Log Home is lived in and loved by others,
Since we live so close, we are able to meet and greet you and get you settled in, and help with anything we can to make your stay enjoyable and safe!
