Other Things to Note
it is important that you call me the host at leaf 3 days before you check in for instructions on check in information my cell is (phone number hidden)
The view from the apartment is absolutely fantastic! This alone is worth staying on this place. The description is also very accurate. It's about a 10 minute walk to the beach and to the Ala Moana shopping center. The apartment complex has a tennis court, pool and jacuzzi which was a great plus too. It's a recommended stay.
Mark was very easy to communicate with. He never took long to answer my questions. We had a great stay in his amazing apartment. The view just left us breathless every morning. We had all the necessary things to cook & the TV cable + wifi worked great.
There's security patroling all night so it's very safe and they are so helpful & friendly if you arrive at night like us. Note for the ladies: there's no blow dryer so bring one if needed. I would highly recommend Mark & staying at the waikiki marina tower: with jacuzzi & pool to enjoy, the ABC store at the corner for all type of food and need, the beach is 6minutes walking distance- we walked through the Ilikai hotel as a short cut to get to the lagoon. Thanks again for being a perfect host. Best choice for a 1st Airbnb experience
We had a wonderful time at the Waikiki Marina Tower. The apartment was clean and had wonderful views of the ocean. The apartment was perfectly located between Waikiki and Ala Moana beach which allowed us to spend time in the busy areas of Waikiki but also find some tucked away local spots to avoid crowds etc. While Mark is not in Hawaii, he was very thorough and accessible to us through email, text and phone. He truly wanted us to have what we needed and was flexible.
Lots of communication. Quick response to all inquiries. Million dollar view. Charming and cozy.
I did not actually meet my host since he is located on the mainland however the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The only hitch at checkin was regarding the parking arrangement which was resolved the second day, aside from this the check in was a breeze.
Only one elevator was working on the day I arrived which resulted in long waits given it is a 40 story building. Thankfully the second elevator was repaired by the end of the second day and all was well.
The room was small as expected (not too small) however the view was outstanding. The place is well kept and has everything one would require to dine in if desired. Location was optimal for my needs as it was not in the heart of Waikiki (traffic) and yet close enough with a little walking. Plenty of shops nearby with Ala Moana a short walk. Easy access in/out by car without fussing through traffic in the center of Waikiki.
The only critiques I would include are that the original posting from my host read that parking was included. In cooresponding with him he stated that parking was $20 a night which I questioned him on and asked if he would honor his posting. He stated that the unit was listed at a discount because he was selling it and may need to show the unit during one's stay. Thereafter he changed his posting and did not honor his original. I reluctantly agreed to his new terms however I feel he should have honored the terms of his original posting.
The only other item was the cleaniness of the shower, the tile floor in the shower seemed a bit untidy and not very fresh smelling. Housekeeping could afford to do a little better job in there.
All in all the overall experince was positive, I would definitely consider staying here again.
I really loved Mark's Condo, it felt like home, the shower was very hot and new, with great soaps and lotions. The kitchen was great with granite counter tops, and everything I needed. The cable and wi-fi, is super fast and the elevators run smoothly. I did not see in any pest while there. The exterminator visited and sprayed the entire building while I was there. The security was great, and I felt safe. The bed was comfortable, I slept like a full baby. The views are breath taking and worth the money. The air conditioner worked great. I hated to leave this condo in Paradise. I will request this Condo each time I am in Waikiki. I took the number 19 or 20 bus to and from the Airport versus 56.00 for Airport Transit. The Condo is close to Ala Moana Mall, I took the Pink Line for $2.00. I loved the food courts and stores, it's the best Mall in the United States to me. I did a lot of shopping at Nordstroms while there.
The Waikiki Marina Tower is a mix of hotels and owned apartments and has the basic amenities such as pool, hot tub, tennis court, laundry room, vending machines and covered parking. The apartment is cozy and has amazing views of the Waikiki Marina and Diamond Head through a huge sliding window. The apartment is small and just has the basics including a queen size bed which is soft and you can feel the springs inside. When we checked in, the front desk agent at the hotel was confused about how parking worked and it took some time to figure out. In addition, there was a leak under the sink where we had bathroom products stored which were soaked along with the floor. We told the front desk but it was not fixed while we were there.
We stayed for 2 nights upon arriving on Oahu as we were transferring to Ko'Olina for a week (which was amazing). We were planning to stay one last night in Waikiki on the tail end of our trip to Hawaii and wanted to stay somewhere upscale but had yet to book. When pulling up a Kayak search results, we found the Waikiki Marine Tower also had a hotel which was cheaper ($99 vs. $140 we paid plus the cleaning fee of $100, so really $190).
After staying there and doing my searches of the local area for hotels, although a great view and location, we could have stayed in the same building for cheaper or found more value in other local places.

A LITTLE ABOUT MARK –
I learned three lessons that were the keys to my success: •You need to want it ( to accomplish things ) so bad you can taste it
•Surround yourself with successful people
•You need to work your rear-end off
I try to live my life using three principles I learned the hard way. •Integrity; do what is right and avoid what’s wrong
•Treat people like you want to be treated
•Do the very best you can every time
Lessons learned from adversity: •A high personal cost in self-esteem sometimes
•Peer groups you often become associated with are not conducive to your improvement
•Embarrassment is the cost of caring about what people think
•Loneliness when no one understands
Benefits from adversity: •Gaining patience. Seldom are you able to accomplish something the first time
•Learning that failing is not bad. You need to keep trying
•Developing a drive and motivating others
•Developing personal fortitude
