Interaction with Guests
We check in on guests at the property after they arrive just to make sure they are settled in. If a guest has a question or requires something, someone will call to see them straight away otherwise they have total privacy. Some people are more private than others and they just need to let us know. Some people like interaction with local people and so we are aware of that too.
The neighborhood is situated in a working farming area. You will experience the real Ireland if you want it. The local village is very friendly but you do have the option to get away from it all.

This was a great experience. So amazing to actually see it when we drove up the entry way. Everything was set up to make our stay simple and enjoyable. Thank you.
After a very impressive 3 week vacation in both Spain and Ireland, our 9 year old granddaughter said this was the place she liked the best!
We had the most fantastic time!! The home was just as it looks online but better! The treasures it holds you find as you go... The home has historic bones with delightfully cozy and modern touches. Diane's wonderful, friendly family, the neighbor cows to the fish in the creek are just a few of the treasures. It's the country feel we needed after hopping from b&bs throughout Ireland. We were a family of seven with three kids and this was the back home roots we needed to recharge our souls.. Ireland is full of beautiful things to see but my top memories of Ireland are sitting around that kitchen table eating, laughing and drinking watching the kids run laps around the house. There is nothing like being on vacation and feeling like your home.. My advice to future travelers is two nights is not enough!!
Our two families had a very comfortable experience staying at "The Old" house. We used it as our main location exploring south central Ireland (Cahir, Cashel, Blarney, Cork). We enjoyed the country setting and enjoyed unplugging from our devices for the beginning of our stay in Ireland. We took several walks along the country roads seeing livestock and the Ireland countryside. The nearby SuperValu in Callan was convenient for shopping and allowed us to make several meals at the place. Our only recommendation for the place would be for more outdoor seating. The property is very nice and we could have used additional seating outside for eating and playing games. tMaybe a firepit?
The old house was the perfect place to start our honeymoon. It was in a great location for us to travel around and see some great sights. When we first walked in we were welcomed by a wedding card and a nice bottle of wine. Diane and Breda and their mother were such great people and it was a delight to meet them.
We spent each night having some wine and snacks down by the creek. Everything about The Old House was beautiful and romantic.
The private cottage was wonderful. It was quaint and full of charm. The photos given by Diane depict the cottage well. The cottage fit our group of 4 adults and 2 young children great. Diane's sister made us feel right at home by stopping by shortly after checking in. Check in and out was smooth and simple, allowing us to see the sights without being rushed. It was a great place to stay.
