Spend your holiday or weekend away in our converted barn, set in pleasant gardens, on the edge of open countryside. Take a short walk along the lane to a 14th Century pub with beams and open fires, or drive to Royal Windsor and the River Thames.
The Barn is a converted hay-loft, separated from the main house, in a semi-rural lane just North of Bracknell, close to Windsor and Maidenhead, and just fifteen minutes from Royal Ascot.
There is separate access to the Barn so can come and go as you please. There is parking on the main drive for your car. Bed linen and towels are provided.
Downstairs there's a kitchen/dining area with a farmhouse kitchen table. The kitchen's equipped with a fridge, microwave, slow cooker, kettle, toaster, cutlery and crockery. We have tried to equip the kitchen with everything you want for a short stay, but if there is anything else you need, you are welcome to borrow it from us. There is internet access (wired and wireless fibre broadband). The toilet/shower room is also downstairs.
Upstairs there's a very comfortable king-size bed, a two-seater sofa and clothes storage/hanging space. There is also a television/ DVD player with a selection of DVDs, and a hairdryer. There is a nice view of the garden from the balcony.
The stairs are a spacesaver design. These are quite steep and could be tricky for anyone who's unsteady on their feet or young children.
We have tried to furnish the rooms in a cosy and comfortable way, so that you feel like you are staying in a home rather than a hotel. We respect your privacy but will be available for you if you need us.
Our garden has recently been redesigned and you are welcome to sit outside and use the outdoor dining area. The doors at the rear of the Barn open up onto a private patio and deckchairs are provided.
We will leave some simple breakfast foods in the kitchen for your first morning - typically this would be a selection of croissants, cereal, breads, jams. Tea and coffee is provided, and we will leave you some milk in a proper glass bottle from our milkman.
The Barn is a good size for two people and is priced for a maximum of two. It can accommodate up to four in certain circumstances - please get in touch and we can see if we can help you.
The Village and Surrounding Area:
Binfield is a small village with three quaint pubs which serve good food. The Stag & Hounds - a 14th Century coaching house - is just at the end of the lane and about three minutes' walk from the property. There are also a couple of Indian restaurants, a Chinese takeaway and a fish & chip shop - all at the top of the hill and within easy walking distance. There are also three major supermarkets a short drive away.
For fine dining, the Michelin-starred Royal Oak in Paley Street is close by. We are also near to The Fat Duck and the Waterside Inn at Bray, and 40 minutes from Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons in Oxfordshire.
This is a perfect country base for Royal Ascot and Henley Royal Regatta, The Guards Polo Club, and Legoland Windsor.
2015: Royal Ascot 16th - 20th June
Henley Royal Regatta 1st - 5th July
We know the area very well and can advise you on a wide range of leisure activities from rambling to ice hockey!
For business travellers, Bracknell is 5 minutes' drive, Winnersh Triangle 15 minutes, and Reading 20 minutes.
Trains to London Waterloo run regularly from Bracknell Station, and to London Paddington from nearby Maidenhead or Twyford stations.
Binfield is served by buses to several towns locally, and there is a very regular service into Bracknell.
We're looking forward to welcoming you.

The second time I have stayed and I can guarantee it won't be the last as it is such a perfect space and Carol and Ian are such kind hosts.
What a lovely space and great hosts. Carol was ever so pleasant in taking time to chat and ensure that everything was fine. The space itself is perfect. The stairs are indeed steep but you get used to that in no time. A fridge well stocked with provisions completed the wonderful stay. I will be back next week!!
We had such a peaceful weekend!
The accommodation was clean, quiet & had everything we needed.
Carol went out of her way to stock the fridge with some goodies to keep us going. An easy weekend away was exactly what we needed and got.
Thank you so much Carol for being such generous hosts!
Would definitely recommend the Stag & Hound for a good meal while you're there.
A really lovely barn conversion and delightfully decorated. Carol was very gracious and made herself available if I needed her. Breakfast foods including milk for coffee and teas were provided. That made my morning starts easy. Very quiet and private. Definitely a gem if you have business or holiday plans in the area or in London.
We stayed at Carol and Ian's for seven weeks during the winter and were made extremely welcome. A lovely basket of goodies greeted us on arrival and Carol even provided us with a little Christmas tree complete with decorations! The stable was very warm and cosy for our winter stay and would be equally delightful for a summer break with access to beautiful gardens. The area is rural with pubs and restaurants close by. Carol was always available to answer any questions and has written a very useful and comprehensive information guide. We would have no hesitation on booking again. All in all we would strongly recommend the stable and Carol and Ian as very efficient and hospitable hosts.
I stayed for 16 nights whilst on a course at Farnborough Airport. The barn is lovely, has everything you need and feels like a home away from home. Carol couldn't have been more helpful during my stay, regularly bringing fresh bedding, towels and asking if there was anything else I needed. I had a wonderful first experience using Airbnb! Thanks Carol and Ian.
We returned to the UK for a week for our son's wedding and had the option of staying in a local 4* hotel or in Carol's converted stable.
The e-mail asking us "what breakfast items do you miss most" hit just the right note and the English crumpets and marmite ( along with the accompanying cereals, chocolate biscuits etc etc) were simply divine !
After the first night's sleep we knew we had made the right decision. It was such a fun place to stay - taking my wife her favorite cup of herbal tea "upstairs" was initially a challenge but soon mastered.
We had a very relaxing stay, and Carol and her husband Ian have the secret ingredients as to how prepare and maintain their "stable" even down to flashlights and umbrellas. It is not for those of "larger proportions" due to the narrow stepladder and the smallish shower but it suited us just fine.
Overall words like "cosy, peaceful, welcoming, fun, different and good value" spring to mind. We will surely book again on our next trip "back home" - but will give plenty of advanced notice as the secret is I fear "out"

I studied Geography at University and went on to work in the travel industry. We have done lots of exciting travel, putting together our own holiday itineraries and seeing amazing places on a budget. We believe that the best way to see the world is to use the guide book to point you in the right direction, and then do as the locals do.
At the moment I'm at home with three young children, which has temporarily suspended the exciting travel but means that we have found some great places on our doorstep. It has also been a great opportunity to utilise a traditional little converted stable in the garden for hosting like-minded people from around the world (if you're using AirBnB, you're like us!).
We'd love to show you our place and tell you about the good things to do in the area. We really look forward to meeting people and are always excited to get a booking.
