About this listing
This is a very large room that provides plenty of privacy with its own private bathroom and refrigerator, with access to all other common rooms in the house if you want more interaction with host or other guests. Plenty of space for two.
This is the room for you if you like lots of space to spread out. It can easily accommodate two adults for an extended stay, It's a huge open space that has it's own TV (everyone in the other rooms would share common TV in the den), and it's own bathroom (the other rooms have to share a bathroom.
The room is on the lower level of the house, has two large windows, a private bathroom, its own refirgerator and microwave, and a private entrance. It's more like a studio apartment than a private room but does not have full cooking facilities so I list it as a private room.
The neighborhood is suburban, which means there are dozens of local restaurants and shops nearby. The nearest mall is less than 2 miles away. The "city" is a half hour by train and the beach is about a half hour drive. Public transportation is within a 10-15 minute walk and you can take buses or trains to almost anywhere on Long Island, as well as the Queens, Brooklyn, or Manhattan. Montauk is about a 2 hour drive, the Hamptons are about an hour drive.
My place is unique in that I have a heated pool, outdoor ping pong table and BBQ for guests to use, and I am very easy-going. it's centrally located to EVERYTHING that Long Island has to offer. In addition, you will have access to the other rooms in the house, and you can use the main kitchen to save yourself some money by cooking your own meals. You can store any of your own food in my refrigerator and use my laundry room anytime you need to. ( That will also will save you a lot of money - public laundromats charge $5.00 a load to wash and dry your clothes) I love my home and you will too! I hope that the pictures can do it justice, but the warmth and coziness of my home are hard to capture on film. I look forward to meeting you and sharing my beautiful home with you. Happy travels!
Guests will have access to their private room and private bath, kitchen, living room, dining room, and den during their stay. Expect to spread out in my very large and very comfortable home, with plenty of lively conversational areas and quiet reading nooks.
Interaction with Guests
I follow my guests' lead. If you want to engage in conversation, I'm happy to oblige. I love to get to know new people. If you want peace and quiet, I understand. Sometimes that's all you need at the end of your day. Either way, I am happy to follow your lead.
It's a beautiful suburban neighborhood, with tree lined streets, very little street traffic, and lots of gorgeously landscaped yards and parks. There are tennis courts nearby for public use (when the high school team isn't using them) and ponds with walking and jogging paths as well. There are lots of grocery stores, restaurants, and entertainment places nearby. About six blocks away you will find movies, ice skating, bowling, and for those who have a car there are plenty of golf ranges nearby also.
There are buses that take you all over Long Island on the corner of Hillside Avenue, about six blocks away. There are Long Island Railroad stations within a few miles if you want to go to Manhattan.
Treat my home the way you would treat your home. Be mindful of wet towels as they can cause lots of damage to wood furniture and carpeting if not hung up properly. Please use a coaster to protect my furniture from cups and glasses that could cause water rings. You may eat or drink water in your room, but please let me know of any spills so I can treat them immediately and avoid stains and permanent damage to furnishings and flooring.
