Elena is a wonderful host and made us feel at home immediately. The house is lovely and we spent many evenings having dinner/drinks on the patio watching the sunset! House is clean and functional. Nearest shop is 15 mins drive away in the town but the house is in a great location to reach much of Tuscany. Make sure to bring insect repellent though as there are a few mosquitoes to contend with but its worth it! Great value - great Airbnb! Thanks Elena x
A beautiful Tuscan home! It was lots of room for 4 adults with everything we needed. A great location if you want to be out of the city. Highly recommended!
Elena was incredibly welcoming. We truly enjoyed our stay at her beautiful villa in the Tuscan hillside. Just a 5 minute drive from the center of castiglione de fiorentino, it was a lovely treat to feel like we could "get away from it all". Elena was able to accommodate out extremely late arrival, and even prepared a warm tart for us. The bed was very comfortable with incredibly soft sheets. We will definitely stay here again, when we are back in Tuscany.
We stayed at Elena´s house for 5 days in August and would have loved to stay there forever:P It was one of the best Airbnb experiences we have ever had! Elena welcomed us in Castiglion Fiorentino at her home place and guided us up to the very beautiful casa "Melagrana". The property lies slightly above (5 min car drive) the village Castiglion Fiorentino and consists of 3 floors, a beautiful garden right next to the entrance to enjoy the sunny Italian summer days and a garden with a freestanding pool to cool down. One can enjoy a fantastic view from the flat over the region. Elena was a fantastic host, even though we did not speak a lot of Italian, we were able to easily communicate with her (Elena has little english knowledge) through her very open and caring manner. She is truly a lovely host, welcomed us with a "yummy" homemade pie and offered us to pick fresh (best we have ever tasted) tomatoes ourselves from her garden right next to the house. The flat was extremely clean and everything was nicely prepared for our arrival. Even our dog was warmly welcomed and felt really comfortable. Elena popped by every now and then to check on us and to see if we require any assistance or help. The flat is very well equipped with all appliances and Elena even installed fans for us to cope with the hot weather. We can highly recommend Elena´s place to everyone who wants to experience the true Tuscany lifestyle. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and you feel like being all alone on that little hill. The perfect place to relax, calm down and indulge yourself to the Italian way of life. Thank you Elena for this amazing experience and we will be back for our next trip to Italy.
BTW: Great view and fantastic sun rises / sun sets guaranteed
We were greeted at the railway station by Elena and a smile. She drove us and our luggage to the beautiful villa in Noceta and pesented us with a crostata ( fruit tart) and a bottle of local wine.
The accommodation is on three levels with the main bedroom on level 2 and a second bedroom with slide out double bed which we did not have to use this time. The kitchen was well equipped and the home was well furnished and presented. The weather was not that kind to us but the home and hospitality provided by Elena made up for the unseasoble weather. We would recommend this accommodation and Elena to our friends and acquaintances when they are next in Toscana and looking for comfortable accommodation in beautiful surroundings.
Elena and her family were great in welcoming us. We had a problem with the car and called her to warn about our delay: even though she and her family were bound to go to a Easter procession in the town centre, they waited for us to arrive. In the oven there was a pie awaiting for us, what a lovely gesture!! The apartment was super-clean and gorgeous; the view on the surrounding hills is stunning. It is a lovely place also for long stays, since the kitchen is equipped with all the necessary for cooking, and one can have breakfast at the table outside, basking in the sunshine.
Castiglione Fiorentino is very near, a perfect location for a stroll and dinner (we recommend Ristorante Muzzicone in San Francesco square).
The house is a great fulcrum for trips to the many medieval villages near Arezzo and Siena.
We highly recommend staying in Noceta in Elena's holiday home!
