Interaction with Guests
I only rent the apartment when I'm away, so you will have the entire space to yourself!
VERY safe, beautiful neighborhood! You can walk home at any time of the night and feel completely safe. This is an upscale part of San Francisco with expensive real estate, and you will never encounter any homeless people or illicit activities near your home. This apartment is really ideally located because it is in a family-friendly neighborhood (you will see many young families and young couples walking their dogs), you are only 2 blocks from very happening nightlife.
-Sunny neighborhood! Unlike the Sunset or the Haight, this part of town gets a lot of sunshine.
-1 block from Lafayette Park, beautiful park at the top of the hill with sweeping views of the entire city, including Golden Gate Bridge
-2 blocks from Polk Street nightlife (~10 block strip of bars, restaurants, clubs)
-Nob Hill and Russian Hill just a few blocks away, very charming neighborhoods with Mom & Pop run wine bars and cafes
-Union St shopping, brunch, cafes, nightlife only 4 blocks away
-Famous Marina District (Chestnut Street bars and restaurants, great for weekend brunch), Crissy Field, Fort Mason is a 15-minute walk down the hill
-5 blocks to Fillmore Street, famous for jazz venues and trendy restaurants
-Any sort of convenience store, grocery store, hardware store you can possibly need is within walking distance. I can guide you to the best places.
Must-Visit Neighborhood Joints:
-Blue Fog Market on Green & Gough for artisan sandwiches, gourmet coffee and pastries. Right across from Allyne Park, great place to eat your treats in the sun
-Amelie Wine Bar at Washington & Polk for delicious international wines and a classy, urban vibe for all ages
-Square Meals on Polk & Broadway, best weekend brunch, great coffee & pastries on weekdays, great beers/wine on weeknights
-Marengo on Union, trendy spot, great for whiskey cocktails, food, seeing how the twenty-somethings of San Francisco live
Multiple public transit options because apartment is 1 block from Van Ness Avenue, a central artery of the city. There are 8 bus lines within a 5 minute walk, 2 cable car lines within 5 blocks
If you are bringing a car...
Street parking is available, doesn't require a permit and isn't metered. However, it is limited to 2 hours from M-F, 8am-6pm typically (some blocks, like directly in front of my apartment, are 8am-11pm). Weekends and holidays have no time limits, and parking is relatively easy on Jackson street between Gough and Laguna. In general, the further you get from Van Ness Avenue, the easier it is. Parking starts filling up fast around 6pm on a Friday, so I would try to get in by then.
No smoking, inside the apartment or outside on the balcony!
No metal utensils near the pots/pans, they are all professional-grade Teflon.
I don't charge a cleaning fee, so please leave the place as you found it.
With the exception of the kitchen, all cabinets, drawers and the closet are off-limits to guests. My personal items are stored there and are not for guest use. However, if you need anything, such as cleaning supplies or basic toiletries, please ask me and I will let you know where they are.
It is my permanent home, so please treat as you would your own!
Comfortable memory foam bed & pillows will ensure you a good night's sleep. And wake up to a beautiful balcony the next morning.
We had 3 nights stay in San Francisco, I am happy that we chose to stay in Kiran's studio.
The location is great! With great access to sightseeing, we were able to walk almost to every place. The studio is clean, has a very comfortable bed, a furnished kitchen and a good bathroom. Kiran is a generous host. The parking was easy.
Thank you Kiran, all the best.
My girlfriend and I had a perfect weekend getaway in San Francisco. Kiran was an awesome host! The studio is in a great location and convenient for local nightlife and sightseeing. Kiran made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Kiran!
Wonderful little gem in a great San Francisco location.
Everything about my experience with this apartment was perfect. Check in and communication was easy. The apartment was clean and cosy and near plenty of essentials.
This is a great place to stay if you are looking to go to San Fran for a long weekend. Its central location makes it easy to walk most places as well as puts you only a small cab far away from accessing the whole peninsula. The apartment is great for 1-2 people as use for a home-base and a comfortable "friend's place" feel.
The host is welcoming and responsive. You can tell she travels far and wide based on the photos, artwork, and postcards on display throughout the apartment. She provided coffee and oatmeal to get our adventures started which is a generous touch.
About the Host, Kiran
I grew up in the Bay Area, moved across the coasts for school and work, and now I'm back in SF. I work as an engineer, and I love to bike, run, cook, and enjoy wine with friends.
I'm an explorer at heart, and I host on AirBnb because it makes travelling more affordable for me, and I want to do the same for other travelers. My room rates are always reasonable (and often cheapest in my neighborhood), since my goal is not to extort fellow travelers for their last dollar, but simply to allow myself and others to explore the world, in comfort at reasonable prices. Safe travels!
