Bedroom in historic home. Built in 1896, updated recently. Has private entrance, queen sized bed and large adjoining bathroom with roomy, tiled shower, no tub. Easy walk to the Oregon Shakespeare festival, Southern Oregon University or a neighborhood coffee shop. Small porch where you can enjoy a cup of tea. Lovely old home in great neighborhood. Large, beautiful yard with veggies and fruit trees. Enjoy the deer as they graze the property. People walk by and comment on how much they love the home, some even say it is their favorite house in Ashland! Wi-fi . Organic coffee/tea in room. Long time Ashland residents. Would love to have you in our home.
Never happened upon the acquaintance of host Phyllis, but the room was clean, had its own entrance/bath/shower with quiet privacy. Location is an easy stroll to downtown Ashland and the Shakespearean Festival Theaters. For live theatre nuts (like me).
Phyllis was a very good host, easy-going and straight forward. The room was perfect for our stay in Ashland. The house was just as close to town and comfortable as advertised. Only small word of advice for future visitors was that the wi-fi wasn't quite up to streaming Netflix but certainly not a big deal. We'd stay with Phyllis again with no hesitation!
Sorry to hear about the WI-FI..I will look into that. Other guests have not had an issue with not gettting Netflix, but I have been having some connectivity issues recently..I will certainly have that issue fixed!!..Thanks for the heads up, Matt and Sarah..and sorry for the inconvenience.
The location is a pleasant and easy walk to the OSF theatres, and the neighbourhood is quiet. Phyllis had let us know she would not be home for our stay, but her friend Paul was there with the key and was helpful and nice. The garden was pretty unkempt, in contrast to the description, but this was not a problem. The room was dirty however. Lots of dust bunnies and grit underfoot on the floor. The towels were a bit musty, maybe we used the wrong set?, and the bathroom floor had some dirt and dust as well. We did not use the open bottle of water, as mentioned in another post. A lid or a cloth over it would be comforting.
Had a lovely stay. Comfy room and bed, glorious bathroom. Thanks, Phyllis.
We had a lovely night in Phyllis's home and would happily return. It's in a great location for exploring the town or attending a festival event. I certainly recommend staying with Phyllis and she is a wonderful host.
I was in Ashland for a short visit with my son, but once I arrived at Phyllis's home, I knew that I would definitely come back when I have more time to relax. This is a peaceful room. I love the windows, especially the one to the backyard...Phyllis is a gracious person, very easy going. The notes left in the room give you the information you need to feel informed and comfortable. This is my first experience using Airbnb, and it was very positive. Oh and the bed is sooooo comfortable...slept like a baby:)
Nice little room in the neighborhood. Loved that it was surrounded by nature all over, including the cute little deers that visited at night. Thank you, Phyllis, for a safe and cozy stay!
The room was very comfortable and homey. It was big enough for a table and some comfy chairs. The bed was very comfortable and it was really quiet. There's a big, fun bathroom too.
When we arrived she asked us if we were going to use the kitchen. We didn't know we would be able to, so we weren't prepared. It would have been nice to make a simple breakfast.
We really enjoyed staying in Phyllis's lovely room. She took good care of us, providing coffee, and everything we needed. We loved seeing the deer, and the carefully decorated bathroom and other special touches. We also loved Chloe, the kitty, very sweet. The neighborhood is really charming, and also close to everything. Highly recommended!
We had a great time in Phyllis's beautiful room in Ashland. Phyllis was helpful and hospitable, and the room was welcoming - coffee and tea in the room, plenty of closet and storage space, etc.
I loved having a private entrance and our own (beautiful!) bathroom - the whole thing was entirely self-contained. It was a really nice, walkable distance to the Shakespeare Festival (and a lovely walk if you go on the little path instead of Siskiyou Blvd). And the resident cat is a winner. :)
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
