  • Phyllis was a lovely host and the room is comfortable, though not fancy, private, and located conveniently. Great shower and plenty of room in the bathroom. We loved the kitty-company too.

  • Never happened upon the acquaintance of host Phyllis, but the room was clean, had its own entrance/bath/shower with quiet privacy. Location is an easy stroll to downtown Ashland and the Shakespearean Festival Theaters. For live theatre nuts (like me).

  • Phyllis was a very good host, easy-going and straight forward. The room was perfect for our stay in Ashland. The house was just as close to town and comfortable as advertised. Only small word of advice for future visitors was that the wi-fi wasn't quite up to streaming Netflix but certainly not a big deal. We'd stay with Phyllis again with no hesitation!

    Response from Phyllis:

Sorry to hear about the WI-FI..I will look into that. Other guests have not had an issue with not gettting Netflix, but I have been having some connectivity issues recently..I will certainly have that issue fixed!!..Thanks for the heads up, Matt and Sarah..and sorry for the inconvenience.

  • The location is a pleasant and easy walk to the OSF theatres, and the neighbourhood is quiet. Phyllis had let us know she would not be home for our stay, but her friend Paul was there with the key and was helpful and nice. The garden was pretty unkempt, in contrast to the description, but this was not a problem. The room was dirty however. Lots of dust bunnies and grit underfoot on the floor. The towels were a bit musty, maybe we used the wrong set?, and the bathroom floor had some dirt and dust as well. We did not use the open bottle of water, as mentioned in another post. A lid or a cloth over it would be comforting.

  • I had a fabulous time at Phyllis' place - the room is large, light and airy, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is decorated, there are windows in the shower... The list goes on. Cleo the cat is great company, and Phyllis is even better if you catch her! Easy distance to everything in town. I plan on staying here again (if I can) when I come back to Ashland :-). Thanks Phyllis!

  • Comfy spot in an ideal location for us - close enough to town and plays but far enough for a little exercise. Phyllis's room is quiet, light filled and charming. The bathroom is roomy with ample counter space. We always enjoy having a private entry with deer along the pathway! Although we didn't get to meet Phyllis in person (our schedules didn't match up) she maintained communication with us throughout our stay. We would stay here again.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and it was the best! Phyllis has this beautiful bedroom with a nice tall ceiling and the most lovely bathroom attached. The walk in shower was large with a unique set of framed windows around two sides (you'd have to see it to know why I loved the design)! Phyllis provided a heartfelt welcome to us and we enjoyed everyone of our 6 days with her. We'll be back on our next visit to Ashland...

  • We had a wonderful stay in Ashland! Phyllis' private room and bathroom were very comfortable and cozy, as well as the nice deck, where we enjoyed coffee in the morning -- and played the cat! Would definitely stay here again :)

  • This was the perfect little spot for our trip to Ashland. Her accommodations were so comfortable and clean with hospitable touches all over the place. We'll definitely stay at Phyllis's next time we're in Ashland.

Some folks say I am "old Ashland". The greatest of compliments! Moved here with the '70's hippie pioneers...after all these years, I still walk out my door and am grateful for living in such a beautiful town. I raised 3 children here, returned to school and became an RN. I sing in a few community choirs, go for long walks/hikes, ride my bike instead of drive my car in town. I have a big yard with a garden, and my happiest moments are spent digging in the dirt with my 3 year old grandson who lives 3 blocks away. Enjoy the Shakespeare plays, movies. Spend time at the Y ( which is a very happening place here :). I travel when I can, having been to India and Ecuador most recently and have another trip planned in May. I enjoy a good laugh, am easy to be around, and I am reallly looking forward to meeting new travelers in my home.
