I had a positive experience staying at this place. Nice large shower. It was clean and exactly what I needed for a night in Ashland. The town was nice and walkable from the place. I would stay again. :)
Phyllis's son Charlie met us as we arrived and made us feel welcome. The room was perfect for our needs, the bed really comfortable. Phyllis had tea and coffee fixings waiting for us, which we will make use of the next time we stay with her in July. On Sunday morning, just as advertised, as we looked out our large west-facing window, 5 deer were lounging in the back yard - sweet! We like walking and the distance to the theater center was an easy 12-15 minute walk. The neighborhood is residential and quiet.
We will definitely stay here again!
We had a lovely time in Phyllis's beautiful house in Ashland! Everything was exactly as described, private entrance and bathroom, lovely garden, easy walk to everything in town, and lovely chats with the host. Very much enjoyed meeting Phyllis and hearing about Ashland from someone who really knows. She gave us good suggestions of things to do but also left us the space to come and go and do our own thing. We would definitely recommend her.
Phyllis is a warm and welcoming host, the room is comfortable and charming with a window overlooking her verdant garden. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and within walk of downtown and the theaters. Also the shower is great.
About the Host, Phyllis
Some folks say I am "old Ashland". The greatest of compliments! Moved here with the '70's hippie pioneers...after all these years, I still walk out my door and am grateful for living in such a beautiful town. I raised 3 children here, returned to school and became an RN. I sing in a few community choirs, go for long walks/hikes, ride my bike instead of drive my car in town. I have a big yard with a garden, and my happiest moments are spent digging in the dirt with my 3 year old grandson who lives 3 blocks away. Enjoy the Shakespeare plays, movies. Spend time at the Y ( which is a very happening place here :). I travel when I can, having been to India and Ecuador most recently and have another trip planned in May. I enjoy a good laugh, am easy to be around, and I am reallly looking forward to meeting new travelers in my home.
