Got there fairly late. Street is pretty dark, so had to search a bit to find the house, but once we did, Phyllis' son was there to give us the key and show us where the room is located. Both he and Phyllis were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The place was just what we needed. We loved the simple/funky style of it. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Great location and cute neighborhood. Loved walking everywhere! Phyllis provided us with a comfy bed, tea & coffee fixings, & sweet birdsong in the morning.
We made a quick trip to Ashland from Northern CA. You can't beat the location to the downtown area. We where were able to enjoy a nice walk through Lithia Park, listen to local music and fine dining.
We knew we'd have a good experience in Phyllis' space when a deer jogged up to greet us upon our arrival. What a lovely property with a great vibe. Large yard, quiet neighborhood. Easy ~10-minute saunter to Oregon Shakespeare Fest. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and clean; comfy bed, large shower (niftiest custom-crafted shower ever!). Phyllis was very communicative throughout, thoughtfully checked w/me in advance to see if we'd be okay if she were out of town while we were there (yes); I had a couple of pleasant brief interactions with her nice adult son who was on-site. Thanks!
Phyllis is a great hostess. She has provided a private room with great amenities and a showed that could accommodate a football team! She is very forthcoming and sharing of resources in the rest of the house, if you need them. The location is perfect for the Ashland Festival, an easy half mile away.
the room was perfect, just as identified.
perfect for the OSF!
About the Host, Phyllis
Some folks say I am "old Ashland". The greatest of compliments! Moved here with the '70's hippie pioneers...after all these years, I still walk out my door and am grateful for living in such a beautiful town. I raised 3 children here, returned to school and became an RN. I sing in a few community choirs, go for long walks/hikes, ride my bike instead of drive my car in town. I have a big yard with a garden, and my happiest moments are spent digging in the dirt with my 3 year old grandson who lives 3 blocks away. Enjoy the Shakespeare plays, movies. Spend time at the Y ( which is a very happening place here :). I travel when I can, having been to India and Ecuador most recently and have another trip planned in May. I enjoy a good laugh, am easy to be around, and I am reallly looking forward to meeting new travelers in my home.
