Organic farm stay near Pittsburgh #1

Private room in farm stay hosted by Jennifer
2 guests1 bedroom1 bed1 private bath
Agritourismo USA! We have a comfortable room; with a cozy double bed and private bathroom. Enjoy a bit of farm life. Experience how food is produced with our diverse farm animals, community vegetable farm, and the chance to help the crew. Great fresh meals!

The space
Our 1950's stone ranch house is set right in the middle our 85 acre organic farm. With comfortable, family friendly accommodations, our guests can settle in and feel right at home.

The guest bedroom has a comfortable antique double bed, dresser, ceiling fan, and private bathroom. We provide linens and towels.

Guests share our living room, dining room, and kitchen.

We'll have the kitchen stocked with breakfast items - farm fresh eggs, milk, yogurt, cereal, fruit, coffee and tea. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen but are asked to clean up after themselves.

We don't have TV, but do have wireless internet and lots of musical instruments!

Settle right in with the rest of the family here. We're used to having lots of folks come and go - so it's easy to make guests feel at home.

We're full time farmers - we're always on site, happy to help with directions, farm tours, or advice on local activities.

During the growing season, it's a busy place with interns, volunteers and visitors. Guest will fit in, as it's a welcoming place!

In the winter, we have more downtime and the farm isn't nearly as busy. There's always a fire in the wood stove and a cup of tea ready to be made. Enjoy the peace and quite of the winter farm - and if there's snow - take the toboggan out for a ride down some of our hills!

We have two kids under 6 years old, so expect that we're living a lifestyle that accommodates small children.

Our township takes pride in its agricultural heritage - with lots of green rolling hills and winding roads - you'll know you're in the country - but still so close to Pittsburgh!

There's rails-to-trails, local winerys, parks, and a few antique stores close to our town. Of course, Pittsburgh is only 30-40 minutes down the road. Day trips to the Laurel Highlands or Allegheny National Forest are very doable from our farm.

We have mainstream grocery stores nearby and a few big box stores not too far away. We're also only 15 minutes from a great natural foods distributor.

We're the place to go for farm fresh, local and organic foods in the area!

It's best to have a car when coming to our farm.

We compost and recycle. Please ask about our protocol if you're confused.

If guests would like to participate in any aspect of farm work - whether just tagging along during chores, or more extensively helping with farm work - just let us know. We'll do our best to give you the farm experience you're looking for!
