  • Our stay at Penmerryl Farm was an absolute delight. Deanie, Ken and their daughter Lydia provided wonderful hospitality and splendid accommodation. Upon arrival, we were given cups of tea and home-baked goodies then shown around the beautiful farm. We did enjoy our walk around the lake in the late afternoon. What a pity we were only there for one night because there is enough entertainment to keep one amused for several days.
Our room was perfect and we appreciated the spaciousness and comfort.
Deanie readily accommodated our breakfast requests and we loved sharing time and conversation with both Deanie and Ken over the meal. They are wonderful hosts.

  • Stayed here for one night and had a fantastic experience! Deanie was the nicest host and cooked a legendary breakfast. Penmerryl is a beautiful farm, especially if you're a dog lover! So many great things to do in the surrounding towns as well. Will definitely be coming back soon!

  • What else can be said that hasn't been covered by other reviewers? Our stay was perfect - with Deanie and her family adding the personal and warm charm that makes us keep on coming back to airbnb. Deanie was very responsive by email and even asked about food allergies and sensitivities prior to our arrival. The room was perfect, very much like a hotel with the typical amenities and comforts. But, we didn't spend much time in the room because all the fun was happening outside. We brought along our pup and she loved being able to roam around without a leash. The farm is an actual horse farm and the backdrop of the Blue Ridge mountains makes the whole environment picturesque. We didn't try the pool or hot tub because we were busy making s'mores in the campfire with some of the other guests, or playing in their "saloon" (not an actual bar, more of a playroom) which has a pool and ping pong tables, air hockey, board games, card games, tv....and so much more. We also didn't take advantage of their canoes and row boats in their lake because we were busy hiking along their well-maintained trails. Breakfast....was....amazing. Not your standard fare, we had creamy potatoes, homemade coffee cake, peach French toast, and sausages. If you're looking for something healthy, they also had fruit and cereal available with lots of coffee, teas, and juices to wash it all down. Deanie couldn't have made us feel more at home (including our pup who didn't want to leave), we had such a nice chat during breakfast and everytime we bumped into her. Our only regret is that we stayed for only one night, but we are definitely coming back.

  • Penmerryl and Deanie are absolutely lovely! Deanie, her friendly pups, and home baked cookies warmly greeted us upon our late (website hidden) husband and I enjoyed their property, particularly watching the horses and spotting an eagle on the lake! The property and our room were quite clean. We were spoiled with a delicious breakfast and great conversation. Penmerryl is a great retreat and we highly recommend it.

  • This was our first time at Penmerryl Farm but won't be our last. The farm is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed an amazing breakfast of bacon, apple pancakes, fruit with yogurt and yummy cheesy potatoes. Our boys had fun playing pool and ping pong. Our room was clean and cozy. Deanie, Ken and Lydia made us feel right at home. We hope to return soon!!

  • Absolutely enjoyed our visit at Penmerryl Farm. It was a wonderful weekend away, and out in the country. We didn't get in until late, around 9pm, and was more than willing to accommodate our late arrival time. We wanted a getaway from the city, to celebrate valentines day weekend and go snowboarding. I believe we found the perfect location. Our expectations were far exceed. The room was comfy and cozy, and after a long day on the slopes the hot tub was more than delectable. Deanie definately made us feel like we were at home and part of the family. Super friendly and breakfast was delicious. We will be back for another visit in the future.

  • We had another great stay with Deanie. Her listing was as cozy as last time and the perfect stop over on our road trip. She goes above and beyond as a host. Even though the power went out in the morning, she still had a hot breakfast ready--breakfast by candlelight. What better way to start off the day? We don't even have to think about whether or not we want to stay with Deanie--we just assume we want to and hope she's got a room available!

  • Penmerryl Farm (email hidden) escape, but what really makes this bed and breakfast stand out are all the personal touches from the owner, Deanie. When we first arrived, Deanie was waiting outside for us, and homemade cookies were already inside our room. Deanie had also thoughtfully left a few treats for our dog too! The breakfast was ample and delicious (make sure to try the cheesy potatoes). Also, this is a very dog-friendly farm. We could bring ours anywhere, indoors or outdoors, and she was welcome. Molly had a blast romping around with Deanie's dogs!

  • Deanie and her family were the most excellent example of why to use Airnb. They made us feel right at home, greeting us with tea and cookies, the room was very nice, clean and cozy, and the breakfast was delicious. I'm quite sure we will stop again when driving to Ithaca. Thanks so much!

My husband, Ken, and I have raised our children here at Penmerryl and really enjoy sharing this wonderful place with others. We love to meet and host new people from all walks of life and all parts of the globe. I cook for and take care of my guests just like my family. I am originally from St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada and Ken is from London, England. We spent 7 years living on a boat and sailing before coming ashore to raise our family,
