About This Listing
Great location for walking, fishing and diving in the unspoilt Beara penninsula in wonderful West Cork now a part of the the wilde Atlantic Way which goes from the North of Ireland via the rugged west coast of Ireland to Kinsale Co. Cork. Mountain, countryside and Ocean views, 2km from the village of Allihies and 1km from a safe sandy beach. Good local pubs nearby with traditional music and great food. I am a good host with local knowledge if you need advice and information of the area. The house has ample parking large garden and is well equipped with one en suite bedroom and one family bathroom. Nearby attractions local mine museum, trecking trails, budist meditation centre and the islands of Dursey and Bere Island.
Great location for day trips over the mountain and into the county of Kerry with locations such as the Skellig Islands Dingle, Kenmare and Killarney. Fantastic senic drive "the ring of kerry" taking in a myraid of many great spots for hillwalking and exploring. The village has a copper mine museum with art exhibitions and musical concerts and the best sea food chowder in the country. Nearby the town of Castletownbere is a major fishing port with the famous McCarthys Bar with a wonderful book by an author of the same name. The landscape is stunning and very rugged throughout the Bear Penninsula with Flora and Fauna that nature lovers would cherish. One of the nicest places in this forty shades of green island!
There is nothing off limits in the house
Interaction with Guests
I will not be around during the guests stay however if they need me
they just have to email or ring me and if necessary I or a member of my family can go to the house.
The whole area needs to be explored by the guest expecially the
Dursey Cable car to Dursey Island, the Mines Museum and walk
up to the mines it-self. Kenmare and Glengarriff are just an hours drive away both towns are worthy exploring and indeed the drive
to them is spectacular again all part of the Wild Atlantic way.
Ideally you need a car or a bike, the roads are narrow with beautiful views.
There is a list on how to work the facilites in the house and I would appreciate if the guests would try to keep the house clean and tidy and not to smoke indoors.
We were looking for a house at the Atlantic Coast and Ronnies house has everything we wanted. Overlooking the sea, a quit place, enough space and a personal touch. We had a wunderful time in Allihies with it's lovely beach and nice museum.
Ronnie got in touch with us very quickly every time we had a question for her. The house was just perfect and we could not have asked for a better accommodation. The house is cozy, well equipped with every one needs, and best of all, with a great ocean view. In addition the house is also very close to the hiking path around. We had such a great time that we are already talking about to go back and stay at the house once more.
we had a great stay. the house is really nice and cosy, there is enough space for 6 people and the kitchen is very good equipped. we felt like home. even if we didn´t meet ronnie she is a really good host. we communicated before our trip and she answered any kind of questions. the surroundigs are very beautiful and the sea with a sandy beach and the small village is close.thanks for our great holiday!
