Stay in the main lodge of a fully operating adventure outfitting company on the edge of the Northwoods wilderness. Open four seasons and located on the banks of the Manitowish River and the paved Manitowish Waters/Mercer bike path, this cozy studio is the perfect launching point for your adventures. A range of river and wilderness trips are available, including guided fishing and canoe camping. Your stay comes with a 20% discount on equipment rentals and shuttle services.

The space
The loft is located above the main lodge room, providing comfortable seating and a large gas fireplace. Guests have access to the main lodge during their stay. We're open for outfitting all year, and are the closest outfitter to the Turtle Flambeau Flowage wilderness area for camping. Our location is perfect for easy access to all that the Northwoods has to offer. Easy bike ride from here to Mercer or Manitowish Waters on the bike path, as well as Boulder Junction, Sayner, and St. Jermaine. Guests can plan to use the lodge as base camp for adventures, with shuttle service to area waterways and trails included in equipment rental. Guests receive a discount on rental and services.

Other things to note
We do have canoes, kayaks, tubes, bikes and camping gear for rent, but if you have your own we can definitely shuttle you and your gear to and fro. In the winter, the snowmobile trail is located directly across the highway from our parking lot, with lots of room to park sled trailers. We’re uniquely located in the middle of a number of groomed fat bike, Nordic and Alpine ski and snowshoe trails for a winter getaway adventure. 11 min. To WinMan Trails. 10 min to MECCA Trails.

Neighborhood highlights

We're one of the last outposts on the edge of wilderness land right between Mercer and Manitowish Waters in northern WI. There are several restaurants, bars, a great taphouse, and microbrewery close. We’re former educators, having spent much of our lives adventuring and enjoying the very same activities we now help facilitate at the River’s Edge. We love getting out to explore and meet new people. Butters, the adventure dog, is a fixture around the lodge so of course we want guests to feel comfortable including their furry friend.
