The Italian thief, Vincenzo Perugia, was working as a glazer in the Louvre. He kept the painting under his bed in Paris for two years. When he returned to Italy in 1913, he offered the Mona Lisa for sale to a Florence antique dealer called Geri, who informed the authorities. During the subsequent trial, Perugia maintained that his motive was patriotism. He wanted to take the painting back to its spiritual home, although it was Léonard de Vinci himself who sent it to François Ist. The thief was sentenced to one year in prison.

A perfect stay! A beautiful apartment, tastefully decorated, very well furnished, clean, and comfortable. It is located near a nice lively area but the apartment is very quiet (little dead end street).
Veronica was very welcoming.
I highly recommend even for longer stay!
Thanks a lot!
This is a great one bed apartment. Very clean and tidy. The fixture and fittings all looks quite new, the supermarket is less than a 2 minute walk and the bakery is just a little further on the other side of the canal. Neither of which is a hassle.
It's in a nice quiet area of 10e.
Helpfully, Veronique has a bookshelf full of maps and tour guides for Paris, for those that forgot theirs.
It's about a 7 minute to Gare de l'Est which has most of the main Metro lines running under it for tourists, 12 minutes to Gare du Nord for those using Eurostar (better than a taxi). Being North of the centre of Paris, we walked up to Montmartre and visit Sacré-Cœur from the apartment in under half an hour as well.
Overall a very good place to stay and will stay again when in Paris.
The apartment is so nice that I changed my marriage proposal from Eiffel Tower to it.
We had a wonderful time in Véronique's beautiful and cosy apartment. The apartment is surrounded by lots of Cafes and restaurants and a super market is only a few minutes walk away, near the canal. It was easy to get around Paris with the nearest Metro station only being about a 10 minute walk away. Véronique was welcoming and really good with communication with emails in the weeks up to our trip giving us lots of help and information about getting to the apartment and answering any other questions we had! The apartment is stocked with lots of tourist guides and maps as well as a book filled with restaurant cards and details. We had an amazing trip and will definitely try to come back to Véronique's apartment when we visit Paris again! Highly recommend, lovely host! :)
The apartment exceeded expectations, it was a lovely space and extremely well equipped. Veronique was extremely welcoming and helpful. She showed us around the apartment and suggested we look through one of the many Paris books available. The neighbourhood was pleasant with lots of quaint cafés and shops. Really nice location next to the canal and it was easy to get around Paris from here being a short walk from Republique metro. I had the best weekend.
Véronique was waiting to greet us and showed us round the apartment and made us feel very welcome. The apartment has absolutely everything you might need for your home comforts. Very modern, very clean and very comfortable. The area is conveniently located and full of cafés, shops and restaurants. Only a 10 minute walk to République Metro. I highly recommend this apartment and I will definitely try to stay here again on my next visit to Paris.
