Description

The Space

The Apartment:

Set up: The apartment consists of 2no bedrooms. One of which is all yours (see below) whilst the other one has been converted into my studio. I am working from the studio during the day from 9AM to 6:30PM, Mon-Fri if I am not out for meetings. I am not there during the evenings or weekends. This 'compromise' has been considered when pricing the apartment and to date this set up has worked very well with my guests.

In addition to the bedrooms there is also a large living/dining room, a kitchen, a hall, a bathroom and a garden.

The apartment is at 78m2 quite large and has 3.2m high ceilings.

The bathroom comes with a Whirlpool and a rain maker. There is also a private discrete court yard (planted, furnished, BBQ, quiet).

It comes very well furnished, 40+inch HD TV, DVD player, wireless high speed fibre glass internet, central gas heating, washing machine, alarm system, weekly cleaner, hair dryer, iron plus ironing board and a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, hob, double oven, microwave, etc).

There is also a selection of books, maps and guides about London available for your convenience. Constantly changing artworks can be found throughout the apartment.

The flat is secure as it comes with an alarm system and the entrance is CCTV covered.

Bedroom:

The bedroom is large with a super-king size bed and a lot of storage space. Books about London and an additional mini fridge can also be found in the bedroom. The light can be remote-controlled dimmed.

Location:

Quiet, close to Limehouse Cut, Canary Wharf, Mile End & Victoria Park. A variety of grocery stores, a fitness centre with pool, a climbing wall, a go-carting track, a cinema, a Health Centre, a drug store, dry cleaners and other things can be found within walking distance.

Infrastructure:

Close to Mile End Station (Zone 2, Central Line, District Line, Hammersmith & City Line) - only 2 stops from Liverpool Street Station and near the London Olympics; close to Devons Road DLR station; within walking distance of Canary Wharf.

Note: There is also a bicycle docking station of London's bicycle hire scheme at the back of the apartment plus a car parking space of a car sharing scheme in front of it.

Arrival from the airport:

Heathrow:
Take the Tube: Piccadilly Line (the blue one), eastwards.
Change at Holborn onto the Central Line (the red one), eastwards.
Get off at Mile End.
Turn left when exiting the station and left again at the traffic light.
Take the 323 bus. Get off at the third stop (St. Paul's Way School).
Alternatively you can walk from the station as well. It is about 10mins if one knows the shortest way.

Stanstead:
Just take a bus to Stratford (IE National Express).
There take the Tube: Central Line (the red one), one stop westwards to Mile End.
Turn left when exiting the station and left again at the traffic light.
Take the 323 bus. Get off at the third stop (St. Paul's Way School).
Alternatively you can walk from the station as well. It is about 10mins if one knows the shortest way.

City Airport:
Just jump onto the DLR to Devons Road station.
From there it is an 8mins walk westwards (left as you come upstairs) to the apartment.

Gatwick:
Take the train into central London towards London Bridge Station.
There take the Tube: Jubilee Line (the grey one), eastwards.
Change at Canary Wharf onto the DLR.

House Rules

No smoking, no shoes and no pets in the apartment please.
Smokers are welcome to use the apartment's cosy courtyard.

Please use the extraction when using the shower in order to avoid the build up of humidity.

Please ensure that all locks (front entrance door, apartment door, courtyard door and windows) are locked when you are not in.

The keys can be left behind on the dining table at departure.

The access code for the high-speed WIFI is on the drawers next to the mirror in the bedroom.

When using the whirlpool, please fill it 5cm (2 inches) above the highest jet with cold water, let it then run for 5mins, drain the bath before refilling it with hot water. This way the jets and pipes get cleaned of any dirt in case the whirlpool has not been used in a while. Do not use bubble baths in conjunction with the whirlpool as this will flood the bathroom.

For my long term guests: The rubbish collection is as follows:
Generic waste (black bags): Monday and Friday early morning
Recycling (pink bags): Thursday early morning
The bin bags need to be placed outside at the end of the property the night before.

Enjoy!
