We had a great stay at Margot's studio. The location is quiet and the studio is impeccable. It has been so thoughtfully prepared with such attention to detail. And, of course, the signature scones are a treat. We really enjoyed our stay.
I wish we could have stayed longer! We booked last minute on a drive down to Crater Lake and Margot was very accommodating even though we wouldn't arrive until late. The studio turned out to be even nicer than it looks in the photos. The hosts seem to have put a lot of thought into the layout and finish of the unit. It was also a pleasant surprise to wake up and find plenty to eat for breakfast before hitting the road. Too bad we weren't around long enough to meet the hosts.
I enjoyed staying at the "bright, airy studio in the trees." It had everything a guest could want and was very clean.
Margot was really welcoming and friendly. She gave us great ideas and information about our visit to this University district of Eugene. There are some great places to eat, a fabulous ice cream store, historic track and field stadium (I didn't know Eugene was track town USA,!) - what more could we ask for.
Margot welcomed my mom and I when we arrived. She showed us around and as she was doing so I realized she had thought of everything! It was a beautiful space. The bed was super comfortable and the skylights above the bed opened to let in a really nice cool breeze. The neighborhood is also very quiet and situated nicely in the trees. The best part of the stay came in the morning with Margot's fresh baked scones. They were so flaky, I wish I could make mine like that! Great trip, thank you.
The studio was clean, spacious and beautiful. I loved how quiet the neighborhood was. It made for a comfortable and quiet little getaway. Margot also makes the best homemade scones I've ever had and all of the organic and natural products and toiletries were an added bonus. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Eugene.
What a treat to spend three nights at Bright Airy Studio- as others have said, the place is so cozy, tucked into the trees in a very quiet neighborhood that is convenient to everything in Eugene. Margot is a wonderful host, with the perfect balance of welcoming me when I arrived, offering any assistance needed, and allowing privacy. The studio was immaculate, with every special touch, from organic breakfast goodies, delicious homemade scones, organic locally roasted coffee and organic half-and-half. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and I felt very lucky to have found the place. Will look forward to returning. Thank you, Margot!
About the Host, Margot
I'm a retired elementary school principal from Eugene, Oregon. My husband is an architect. One son lives with his wife and young daughter in Brooklyn, NY. Our other son lives in the San Francisco area. Airbnb is a great resource for finding places to stay when we visit our children. We love Eugene, a progressive university town close to the ocean and the mountains, but visiting two vibrant cities is always a pleasure. The diversity, museums, restaurants, and plays are particular attractions. I just love walking in the city, particularly when I'm pushing my granddaughter in her stroller in Brooklyn! Other interests for me include hiking and backpacking, rowing with a crew, reading, movies, theatre, cooking, birding and travel.
