Very nice hosts and beautiful house in a quiet place. Close to Marahau and Split Apple Rock. Perfect place for couples. We really enjoyed having a barbecue and dinner outside, watching at the sunset.
What a wonderful experience! The guest house is beautiful and was stocked with everything we needed and many extras. Sue and Hugo were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to help us and make us feel at home. Sue gave us recommendations for activities and food, and even drew us a map with recommendations for winery tours, refreshments, etc. The homemade muesli, yogurt and spreads were delicious. Wish we could have stayed for a week!
This was our first time using Airbnb and what a treat it was for us. We immediately felt at home and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay along with Sue's delicious homemade muesli and yoghurt. The bean bags on the grass in front of the guesthouse were a treat to relax into and absorb the Tasman sunshine with a good book. We were so surprised to find a new TV and microwave on our return to the guesthouse one afternoon. Thanks so much for that.Tony and I enjoyed our pre dinner drink and chat with you on our final night. When we next return to your area we would definately choose staying here over anywhere else...it's a wee gem. Thanks so much Sue and Hugo for being wonderful hosts.
Sue and Hugo are very nice couples and they gave us a lot of helps and useful information when we arrived. The view is just stunning at the house. We woke up very early to see the sunrise, and it was so beautiful. I hope I can stay longer to enjoy it. The Rabbit Island nearby is also a good spot in the morning, it is quiet and you can expect local ladies to ride horses on the beach which looks like a scene in the movie.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Redwood valley. Sue & Hugo were very helpful in offering suggestions as to some local restaurants at Mapua harbor as well as routes to consider on our way to Greymouth. The location of their home offers spectacular views of the mountains, the inlet and the valley below. The studio unit is lovely and we felt right at home. Sue provided Meusli, yogurt, bread, honey & jams for breakfast both mornings. A most comfortable stay with delightful folks.
Ahhh!! How we loved our stay in Redwood Valley! Large, spacious apartment, full of light and scenic views. Nice, private patio. The best shower we've had in New Zealand. Speedy internet. Homemade limocello. If you're visiting Nelson, STAY HERE! Sue and Hugo were very friendly and hospitable. They were gone for most of our stay, and allowed us to use their outdoor fireplace one evening, which was lovely. Would highly recommend.
Sue and Hugo are wonderfully welcoming and hospitable. The modern cottage made an excellent base to explore Nelson and the Abel Tasman region with an amazing view over the estuary. It's great that the cottage is set alone from the main house, so you can come and go and not disturb too much.
We weren't around a lot but we had everything we needed when we were including a delicious home made breakfast and basic essentials (those things you don't really want to have to buy when you're only away for a few days!). We were in Nelson to attend a wedding, and Hugo very kindly took us to the venue too! They just went above and beyond. We will definitely be recommending to others and be back again if we're down that way in the future. Thanks!
Hi Hugo and I are a retired professional couple who love to travel, read, cook and spend time on our little boat on the estuary.
