Entire Private Vintage Houseboat in Amsterdam Centre
Being a traveller myself I hope to offer you exactly what you would love during your travels. "A centrally located comfortable getaway just of the beaten track" This houseboat is so unique. The neighbourhood is the most popular in Amsterdam getting away from the tourist attractions and noise on Prinsengracht and Leidseplein but still in walking distance of all the action.
This cosy houseboat is situated in one of the most beautiful canals of Amsterdam. It is a short walk from the vibrant city with its many cafes, restaurants and shops. The most important museums and theaters are easily accessible on foot, by bicycle or tram connections. It has a living room with all the comforts of home, and an open kitchen.
The houseboat is about 40 square meters large and has a lovely sun terrace.
Right in the centre of the city this residence offers you all the tranquillity of a true vacation destination.
My houseboat is a stonesthrow away of Leidseplein (Leidse Square), Vondelpark, Museumplein (Museum square) and the city centre with Damsquare and Anne Frank's house.
Bed and Bath Linen will bw provided. All you need to do is pack your gear and just be...
Just around the corner you will find the cutest little restaurants in town. But if you feel like a night on the terrace you can get the best Thai take away in town just around the corner, also all other kind of take away food like pizza, sushi, libanees, etc.
If you prefer a nice restaurant I can arrange a reservation for you at some of the best places in town. Like Tunes restaurant or Madelief (the slowest restaurant in town :-) )
All in walking distance of the houseboat. On board I have a recommendation list of restaurants and pubs like micro breweries and other local finds. If you tell me up front what you like I can sort out the reservation for you.
In the houseboat there will be some city guides and restaurant guides available aswell as my own travel tips.
Of course renting a bike or canal boat is always an option but everything is in walking or tram distance.
There are two markets on walking distance one very affordable daily groceries/fruit/veg flower market on Ten kate straat and the other is a farmers market/vintage market on Noordermarkt.
Oh and I almost forget in the street there is this local Hammam/ Bath house with a Sauna, Steam Bath, etc. For less then 10 euro you can have a splurge here!
Upon arrival I will make sure there is a nice bottle of wine for you and some Dutch treats.
I really hope my house will feel like your home away from home.
The house will be spotless clean! guaranteed!
I had many people stay here via a different organisation. If you want a recommendation please ask.

We loved staying at our houseboat Wende.
The location was perfect for us , close to the centre but not too close. we felt somewhat like locals since it was an extremely quiet canal wit no tourist boats etc. We felt at home using your bike and enjoying the cute terrace. It was all just as we expected and more :) thank you and TODA from israel.
On the sunny side of Amsterdam.
Thank you very much that we could stay on your boat.
The weather was perfect, so we could sit on the terrace, on this quiet canal in the middel of Amsterdam.
Everything felt good and nice.
Had a nice time on the boat and can fully recommend it to anybody who's looking for a unique Amsterdam trip. The boat is central enough so that you can reach any major sight within walking time but still the sourounding is quiet enough to have a recreative sleep.
The next tram station and a supermarket are only a few minutes away so you'll have everything you'll need in reach.
Arrival and depature were very uncomplicated and friendly.
Thank you! It was a really nice trip and I'm sure I will come again.
Thanks Wende & Simon for this great stay and providing me a bike for my days in Amsterdam! It was a perfect location for this work/life trip to one off the most beautiful cities I know.
Very cute houseboat in a great location! The size was perfect for two people. Everything was conveniently located and within walking distance, but the tram was a good option, as well. We had a really great time, and appreciated Simon's recommendations for places to see and eat.
A great place to stay. Wende's brother, Simon, was very helpful and offered fantastic recommendations of restaurants and entertainment. Cute comfortable clean home.
My days in Houseboat were great. The place is fantastic, very cozy and calm. Wende and Simon are very nice hosts, they provided us all the information we need. I hope we can come back to stay longer.
My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon and loved staying on Wende's houseboat. It was a unique and fun alternative to a hotel! Her brother in law met us with the keys and even haggled with the taxi driver for us. Once we learned the tram system we would definitely recommend that over taxis. Word of warning though, your credit card needs to have a chip in it in order to use it to buy rail tickets. Otherwise, you will need cash to purchase them directly from a clerk.
The boat is on a very quiet street, but close to the trams. If you don't mind walking. The city is actually not too big to just foot it from the boat. There were several local groceries near by where we bought snacks, wine & beer. If you walk towards the center, there is a fantastic Dutch restaurant just over the first bridge called Moeders. Order the Dutch rice dish in order to sample almost everything on the menu.
Overall, Amsterdam exceeded our expectations and was a surprisingly calm and relaxed city. Should we ever visit again, we will surely stay on the boat!
Wende's houseboat is very pleasantfull. For 2 persons, it is perfect, there are all comodities, internet, terrasse, and space. The houseboat is very well situated in town, near jordaan's. The area is both calm and full of nice places. We were very well welcomed when we arrived. This houseboat is a garantee to pass a very pleasant journey in Amsterdam!
Thanks a lot for everything Wende!
The houseboat was in a great location to explore Amsterdam with ease. Simon met us on arrival, and had some fantastic recommendations. Although we had a delightful stay on the houseboat, some maintenance may be required and more attention to cleaning. We also had a packing space problem - we only stayed for 4 nights, but have been traveling for a while and there was limited cupboard space available for clothes.
The canal was very quiet and although it rained for most of our stay, we enjoyed the occasional passing traffic from inside with a drink. What a great experience to stay in the wonderful city of Amsterdam - on a houseboat! Thank you Simon and Wende.
