The Location

Visiting Scotland means you have got to get to Glasgow, Scotland's largest city has all the hustle you will ever need and our Glasgow apartment sits right on the city doorstep.

The apartment is set within an iconic landmark across the Glasgow skyline, Speirs Wharf represents a magnificent piece of industrial heritage. The apartment is 4 minutes by car into the main city square or you can take a ten minute walk to Sauchiehall street.

In 1989 the development was converted from the warehouse building of Speirs Wharf, forming 150 loft-style residential apartments, a private leisure centre, and 19 commercial units. During the 19th Century, Speirs Wharf was at the hub of Glasgow's industrial revolution, with work commencing on the first phase of its development in 1811. The single building at the entrance to the development was built in 1812 as the offices for Forth & Clyde Navigation Co. In 1851, the City of Glasgow Grain Mills & Stores owned by John Currie & Co followed. Subsequent additions followed between 1869 and 1870. Originally the mills had 20 pairs of mill stones and a 100 horse power condensing engine.

Glasgow remains the city of choice in Scotland, the city has a well deserved reputation and is regularly voted the UK shopping destination outside of London. All tastes are catered for, from the more exclusive boutiques of Princes Square and the Italian Centre, to the independent retailers and thrift stores of the West End, and not forgetting the Glasgow institution The Barras Market.

For those with an interest in art, you will be glad to know that Glasgow is home to many galleries and museums, with wide and varied exhibitions, most of which are free to visit.

Music fans will love the vibrant music scene in Glasgow. Live music is a regular feature in many pubs, and the city itself hosts some of the biggest names in the UK and international music scene. Annual festivals are held in the city, including the Jazz Festival and Celtic Connections.

If sports and leisure is your thing, Glasgow is home to Scotland's two biggest football clubs. If you prefer to participate than to watch, there are a number of gyms, leisure clubs, and outdoor pursuits to keep you fit and help you to make new friends.

Glasgow by Night

Glasgow offers a vast selection of pubs and clubs throughout the city making it an extremely popular destination for it's nightlife.

The diverse range of restaurants across Glasgow's sprawling metropolis has something to offer everyone - whether you're planning a group function for a special occasion or just a business lunch. Glasgow has food as unique and cultured as it's visitors.

The West End of the city centre is filled with chic and sophisticated yet not pretentious pubs and cocktail bars, Ashton lane, a cobble stone alley is a popular haunt for tourists and locals and features a number or stylish bars such as Brel and Vodka Wokda. The adjoining Byres Road, a lengthy main road, offers similar styled bars albeit more due to its much larger size.

Sauchiehall Street is amongst the most popular nightlife hot spots in the city, the long road is crammed with pubs, clubs and restaurants. It features a wide range of fashionable bars, notable favourites include Bar Buddha, Campus (also a club), Driftwood, Firewater and many others. However areas such as Bath Street and others situated nearby also feature a wonderful selection of bars and although Sauchiehall Street is amongst the most popular, almost every street in the city centre is crammed with bars.

The Club scene in Glasgow is fantastic, with new clubs consistently being added to the already large number throughout the city. Sauchiehall Street boasts such favourites as Campus, Blanket, Destiny and the extremely popular Garage. Royal Exchange Square and nearby streets feature popular venues such as Mas, The Social, One up, Cathouse and The Tunnel. Many more are spread across the city centre.

With a large and vibrant gay community, the city centre features a number of gay bar and nightclubs as well as many clubs featuring their own gay night once a week. Popular venues include The Polo Lounge, AXM, Katies Bar, Moda, Delmonicas and the Revolver Bar, most of which are situated within the Merchant City Area.

Best way I could have seen Glasgow

It is often the little details that set a place apart and make it a wonderful experience. Snuggle's has all those little things. All the extras like soaps, bathroom products, nice towels and linens, coffee and tea fixings, a welcoming bottle of wine, big TV, jazzy decor, incredible views of Glasgow in a quiet location. We walked to everything: the Barras Markets, Cathedral, downtown shopping, University, Kelvingrove Museum and park, Botanic Gardens, etc. Someone who is limited in ability to walk might find it far, but then the nearest subway station is just down the hill and bus, taxi or trains are easy, cheap and convenient. We slept well and enjoyed making our own meals in the nicely equipped kitchen. Thanks Derek!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this flat. It was just as pictured, spotless, and very comfortable. Derek kindly waited for us to arrive after some airport delays, showed us around and left us to it. There was a tea tray and wine waiting for us in the kitchen, and he had already turned on the heat to take the chill off. The walk to the subway is not even 5 minutes away and it is one stop away from downtown. I highly recommend this apartment for you visit to Glasgow!

We had a lovely time in Glascow staying at the snuggle apartment. The view of the canal/downtown was wonderful. Check-in was seamless, the place was very clean and comfy. Unfortunately did not get to use the pool as we were touring most of the days we were there but it looked very nice and wish we had had the time to utilize it. Overall wonderful experience.

Wonderful place!! Loved the location--quiet, but very easy walk to the subway, bus station, train station or city center itself. Had a balcony that was perfect for sunset watching. Everything was super clean and very smooth check-in process. Would love to stay here again!

Nice clean flat in a nice neighborhood. Derek was courteous and showed us the apartment and how everything works. Excellent experience. Nice restaurant a few doors down called Ocho- they close around 6:00 pm and closed Sunday's but try to visit when they are open. Excellent food. Derek was a wonderful host and even gave us a 10% off coupon for the restaurant.

We had a great stay here in Glasgow. The host was very helpful when we arrived and helped us out by showing us around the property and gave us lots of info on what to see in the area and useful tips. The room was clean and very comfortable and the pool and spa area were also very nice. The location was perfect, there is a nice walking area right outside the building on the canal and the place is within walking distance to the downtown area. I would choose to stay here again if I ever return to the Glasgow area!
