Visiting Scotland means you have got to get to Glasgow, Scotland's largest city has all the hustle you will ever need and our Glasgow apartment sits right on the city doorstep.
The apartment is set within an iconic landmark across the Glasgow skyline, Speirs Wharf represents a magnificent piece of industrial heritage. The apartment is 4 minutes by car into the main city square or you can take a ten minute walk to Sauchiehall street.
In 1989 the development was converted from the warehouse building of Speirs Wharf, forming 150 loft-style residential apartments, a private leisure centre, and 19 commercial units. During the 19th Century, Speirs Wharf was at the hub of Glasgow's industrial revolution, with work commencing on the first phase of its development in 1811. The single building at the entrance to the development was built in 1812 as the offices for Forth & Clyde Navigation Co. In 1851, the City of Glasgow Grain Mills & Stores owned by John Currie & Co followed. Subsequent additions followed between 1869 and 1870. Originally the mills had 20 pairs of mill stones and a 100 horse power condensing engine.
Glasgow remains the city of choice in Scotland, the city has a well deserved reputation and is regularly voted the UK shopping destination outside of London. All tastes are catered for, from the more exclusive boutiques of Princes Square and the Italian Centre, to the independent retailers and thrift stores of the West End, and not forgetting the Glasgow institution The Barras Market.
For those with an interest in art, you will be glad to know that Glasgow is home to many galleries and museums, with wide and varied exhibitions, most of which are free to visit.
Music fans will love the vibrant music scene in Glasgow. Live music is a regular feature in many pubs, and the city itself hosts some of the biggest names in the UK and international music scene. Annual festivals are held in the city, including the Jazz Festival and Celtic Connections.
If sports and leisure is your thing, Glasgow is home to Scotland's two biggest football clubs. If you prefer to participate than to watch, there are a number of gyms, leisure clubs, and outdoor pursuits to keep you fit and help you to make new friends.

The adjoining Byres Road, a lengthy main road, offers similar styled bars albeit more due to its much larger size.

There is something for everyone in Glasgow.
This was a great place to stay for a few nights. The owner met us on arrival (and was easy to contact, i text him our estimated arrival time just keep him aware). The location on the canal was great for a jog. Parking was straight forward (though the street gets a bit packed with cars, there was always room for us to park). It was a short walk to the underground station and into town.
We really enjoyed having the use of the spa/swimming pool area, it was a nice little treat to have after a long day walking around Glasgow.
The facilities of the apartment are excellent especially for the price.
I thought the apartment was amazing! It was a home away from home it had everything i needed. And shaun and derek were lovely hosts. Apartment was in a perfect location lovely view, the swimming pool and hot tub made it even better . I didnt want to leave !. After staying in this apartment i would never stay in another apartment or hotel in glasgow again!
We were made to feel very welcome and shown the apartment and spa so we knew everything.
On arrive there was some wine and bottled water which was a lovely touch.
The apartment was very clean and cosy and perfect for our stay. We'll be back sometime soon I'm sure.
Brilliant! The flat has a great location. We were met by the building's cleaner who showed us around, the flat is really well equipped and the pool/sauna/steam room made our whole weekend that extra bit relaxing. Overall a lovely place to stay. Highly recommended
Our trip to Glasgow was great, and what made it even better was the apartment itself. It was quite central only being a 10 minute walk to the city centre. The apartment was fantastic and it does offer everything you need for a relaxing stay (even better than many hotels). We thought the access to the gym, swimming pool and spa was a big plus. Derek and Irene were fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Glasgow!
Had an excellent stay. Facilities as described were spot on. Loved every minute of it. Great location too. Would definitely recommend and would come back again
We were very pleasantly surprised with the situation of the flat and how easy it was to get the subway to lovely restaurants and bars on the outskirts of the city. ( Don't forget to book before you arrive! ) We had booked a concert at the SSE arena and even that was easy to get to. If you don't want to use the subway the taxis that you book privately are very cheep rather than hailing one on the street.
The flat itself was immaculate and we wanted for nothing. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much.
