Built by the vice president of the Purington Brick Factory in 1914, this 100+ year old home has been beautifully maintained for over a century. The basement space has a shower, bathroom sink, laundry, kitchenette, kitchen sink, first floor toilet (requires 12 steps to toilet), double pillowtop mattress, large TV and is conveniently located close to Knox College and downtown.

The space
very clean, comfortable, and convenient. I live on the first and second floor time. you will hear me upstairs.
The shower and bathroom sink are located "en suite" in the space, and the toilet is at the top of the stairs on the first floor..
Quiet hours are between 10 pm and 7am.

The neighborhood was built when Galesburg was booming with industry. Located just a half block off North Broad St., it would have been the first house on the block, and constructed by the many tradesmen associated with the Purington Brick Factory. This Prairie House would have been a shocking contrast to the Grand Victorians in the neighborhood.

During your stay

During the week I may be working in my office. I respond quickly to messages. You are welcome to introduce yourself, but it is not necessary.

I will not enter your space during your stay, however I occasionally need access to the washer and dryer, although I try to do laundry when I have no guests.

You will have the rooms downstairs which include a shower, sink, couch, chair, table with two chairs, coffee maker, microwave and small refrigerator. You will also have your own toilet and small sink at the top of the stairs.

The red curtain near the guest bathroom is added for additional privacy. The main kitchen is not available for guest use.
