The Space

Near downtown Denver and all public transit. Close to City Park (12 blocks) and close to all the best music venues. All biking distance. We just purchased bikes for our guests June 4, 2013. Rent a bike for $10 a day. We are close to Lodo, Colfax, Rino and Cap Hill are easy to get to by car about 10 min or by bike 20 min. We have fresh ground coffee and smears & bagels, fresh chicken eggs from next door, plus award winning honey from our hive. This is a Bike it, Bus it or Car it house. All cool stuff within minutes by car and 10-25 by bike.

Our greatest challenge as hosts is deciding to let some in our home that does not have a profile at all? Privacy is one thing but it is a home so we are going to want to know who you are before letting you into our home. If your going to run around before coming straight here from the airport let us know. We are very active people and do not sit around much. We have dinner parties, movies, hikes, and we ski. So please be considerate about setting a time and sticking to it and keeping us informed as to your arrival time. It really makes a big difference to us. Firday and Saturday nights can be a big challenge and many times we have to leave an event to let your in if it's in the evening. So be considerate.

This an allergy free zone. No pets and no smoking. However patio in back is available for smoking.

We have three fantastic Micro Breweries 8 min. by car. About 12 min. by bike. Or bike it to Bluebird for a concert about 10 min.

Fantastic Micro's

Our Mutual Friends Brewery
Black Shirt Brewery
Great Divide Brewery

Venues same distance

Larimer Lounge
Meadowlark Bar
Walnut Room

Rockies/Lodo about 15 min by bike. Or bus it for $2 bucks.

The room is tiny but hey we got a 40" flat screen with hulu and netflix. Super thick curtains so after the late nights you can still sleep in a bit with out the bright Colorado sunshine. Beth and Jim are great resources as to how to get around and what to see in Denver. If you are here during May-Sept. and it's a Wednesday night you can ride along on a Denver Cruiser Ride with 3,000 cruisers and the ride. Rent a bike $10 each day. It's like burning man on wheels. A must see. Chill around the fire pit or pick a fresh veggie for dinner out of the garden This is not a party house but a friendly warm safe place to stay on the cheap. This is 12 blocks north of City Park where Tour DeFat is held in September! We have other guests in the home as well. All have passed the Airbnb verification process. The bathroom is down the hall and is shared so bring jammies. If this room is not available please check out our new rooms also in a separate listings Bungalow near City Park - Denver . Or City Park Garden - Private bath Same house just a new cool rooms to chill in.

The only thing we ask is you have a good time. No snobs or snoots allowed.

The Neighborhood

Near Micro Alley. By car or bike. Not walkable. Bus is 200 yards from door. $2.25 gets you to down town in 17 min.

Getting around

Bus , bike, or car. Anything that is cool is 10 min. away. Not a walkable area. We recommend a car or your mass transit savvy. We have Bikes for $10. Its close to downtown but if your not a walker and scared on inner city stuff stay somewhere eles for 5 X the cost.

  • Great spot in Denver. Easy to find parking, close to a great deal of attractions. Our stay was relatively simple thanks to regular communication with our host who provided us with specific instructions for checking in and checking out. Fresh towels, comfortable bed. Couldn't ask for more!

Sorry for the tone of the notes. We have had past guests that have done things that were not good. Like leave my doors open for entire evenings. They let in bugs and rodents. Since then we posted notes being more direct and guess what no problems. Same goes for the kitchen and how much we provide for breakfast. We have had people literally take entire packs of bagels and not leave any for the guests. Try dealing with that one. Thanks for the soft criticism. We have had over 400 people and has to be firm.

  • Quiet, cozy, nice patio out back for hanging out. Very tidy and clean, owner obviously came to check on the house daily, felt very taken care of!

  • I had a great time at Jim's place! The house was adorable and my room was cozy and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked and I enjoyed my first hot meal since I began my road trip. There was some breweries within a reasonable distance to his place which made for a nice evening out for a couple of beers. The outdoor seating and firepit area were also a big plus. If I come back through Denver I'll certainly try to stay here again!

  • My husband and I travelled to Denver for the first time last week and the house we stayed at was clean, quiet, comfortable, and easy to find. Even though a number of people stayed at the house while we were there, everyone was thoughtful and respectful of each other's privacy. We would definitely recommend staying here, and the price was exceptionally good.

  • Jim has a great place that feels like a great waystation. He was gracious to let us stay for one night at the beginning of a road trip. The whoops factor happened when I took a shower around 10:30PM and for the life of me could not get the water totally turned off and so a little was on all night. I am sorry Jim. These are the times when I am embarrassed to say that I am an engineer.

  • Great spot for a one night stop in Denver. Plenty of space for me and one bag, and a comfortable bed. Jim was nice and reasonable. Would recommend it.

  • We had a quick stopover in Denver and Jim's place was a great budget friendly option! The house is also close to the bus line which allowed us to get into the city quickly and easily!

  • Great location and host. Very clean and tidy. May have to deal with other guests, which isn't always what you're looking for when you just want a place to lay low and unwind. But for the price you can't beat it. Great outside space for relaxing and enjoying the nature of Denver

  • Jim and Beth are Outstanding hosts. This is my first Airbnb experience and I was not disappointed. Jim is very conscious of what people need and expect out of their experience. He is very knowledgeable of the area and provided suggestions to keep anyone busy for the entirety of their stay. The house is very neat, organized and provided all the comforts of home. The rooms have your own big flat screen TV to watch cable, Netflix, HULU ect. The quaint and private backyard and patio allowed me to relax, use the gas grill, store my mountain bike and hang out with other guest. I met couples from Texas, NC, and New England. Awesome Experience!
