A real living Beech tree grows right through your private deck, glowing at night with soft lights you can enjoy from the hammock or swinging love bench.

There’s also a guest pantry with surprise goodies left by past travelers—take what you need, and leave anything that you don’t! Great for extra salt, oil, spices or unopened treats.

Though it feels deeply tucked into nature, the treehouse is just 25 minutes from downtown Black Mountain and Fairview, and about 35 minutes from Asheville and Hendersonville—offering the perfect balance between serene retreat while still being within reach of great food, breweries, and whatever adventure brings you here.

To help you plan your trip, I’ve created a list of open favorite restaurants, breweries, hiking trails, and attractions in the “Neighborhood Description” section of this listing. These places are open and welcoming visitors after Hurricane Helene—and would truly love your visit and support.
Feel free to use my list and guidebook as a starting point, but please confirm with each establishment directly for the most up-to-date information and availability.
There is one mile of scenic gravel road before reaching the property. AWD is NOT required to access the property but some guests prefer it. Please see “other things to note” section for more info about roads, accessibility and vehicles.

Other things to note
Guidebook
Western NC is still recovering from Hurricane Helene, but many shops, restaurants, and trails are open and grateful for your support. My guidebook updates slowly post-Helene, so please check with businesses directly. To help you plan your trip, I’ve created a list of favorites that are open post Helene in the “Neighborhood description” under “Location” for quicker reference.
Access Routes
Roads from Asheville, Hendersonville, and Black Mountain are open. Chimney Rock access Highway 74 is open but the access point on highway 9 is still closed meaning there isn’t a direct route from the south coming from Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Gerton or Bat Cave.
Gravel Roads/ Vehicle Access/ Mountain traveling
The treehouse is in a mountainous, rural area, with the final mile being a gravel road. Most of the road is not steep, with one moderate uphill switchback near the house and a few bumps, mainly around curves. All wheel drive is not required, and many neighbors and guests, including myself, regularly drive it in standard sedans without issue. If you are in a sedan, just take curves slowly and give a wide berth and you will be fine. Comfort levels with mountain roads vary, though, and some guests have stated they prefer all wheel drive. I share this so you have a clear picture of the road conditions and can decide what feels best before booking.
Cell Service
Reception is limited, but a signal booster is provided and adds a couple of bars. WiFi calling can also keep you connected.

High Speed Starlink WiFi is provided. Its suitable for most needs, with occasional brief slowdowns or drops during high usage or bad weather.
Appliances
No TV, DVD player, or dishwasher. The space is simple and peaceful—designed for rest and reconnection.
