  • Anders and his family were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and obliging. Anders contacted us shortly beforehand to check we got all the details we needed and we were given a very warm welcome. Anders parents gave us loads of practical tips and came round a couple of times to make sure, everything was alright as well as Anders sending us a couple of emails during our weeklong stay, asking if everything was entirely satisfactory.
And indeed, everything was great, we really enjoyed the stay. The house is old and very beautifully done up, clean and comfortable. The garden is huge and from the front of the house and the balcony there is a stunning view over lake Mälaren. We were even able to use the barbecue and take the canoe out on the lake. And going into central Stockholm by public transport is very easy too, so it really was the perfect place to stay. Thank you very much, maybe until next time!

  • We had a wonderful stay at this romantic and original decorated house.
It's close to Stockholm and convenient to reach by car (if you are renting one) in about 25 min or just take the bus. The house itself is like a small apartment that fit's 2 people plus 2+2 kids but feels like you really have your own little house. In winter time it's a perfect place to lit the fireplace, candles and have a relaxing time. In summer the lake just in front of the house must be fun to! The house itself has a lot off charm because not all is new but feels like some spend a lot of time in just making sure all is there to have a great time and feel totally relaxed. The bathroom is small but new and the shower is really great with heated floor. The environment and view is nice and quite private but a shop is just 5 min by car to do your groceries. It's really perfect just to experience a few day's of stockholm city life but as well to cool down and spend some time together and read a book or play a game. Just depending on how you feel you can pick the country side and walk into the forrest or spend a night in a Stockholm bar. The owners made sure that there was someone to let us into the house so it was easy to find and made sure we could start enjoying our stay quickly. Last but not least, the house was clean and a small breakfast was provided on arrival.

  • This place is a nice little gem.

The cottage is right next to the lake in a very lovely rural area close to Stockholm. With a balcony on the first floor, you can enjoy the most fantastic mornings with breakfast in the sun, overlooking the lake in wonderful quietness. A few minutes walk from the house you will find a public swimming area with a jetty and you can swim out to a barge where you can jump out from different heights. Next to that there is a little forest where there were blueberries and raspberries we used for our breakfasts.

Lars-Oluf and Birgitta was the most wonderful hosts, they showed us around the place and surrounding area and gave us some great tips about the local opportunities. In the most unlucky turn of events our car broke down and Lars-Oluf together with a friend of his was very kind and helped us getting the car fixed.

The cottage is cosy and has everything you need, the kitchen is fully (!) equipped, and the bathroom is brand new. If we should point anything out, it would be that we missed a larger and more slouchy sofa or soft lounge chairs where the four of us could chill out in the evening, but that easily balances out compared to what the rest of the place provides. You should also be aware that the cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a loft bed. The two additional sleeping spots are on the couches in the living room and in the downstairs entré.

The house is around 25 minutes from Stockholm in car, but you can get in and back by bus+train in approximately an hour (you can buy bus tickets at the nearby gas station).

All in all we really enjoyed our stay with peaceful relaxation and nature combined with the wonderful, stressful Stockholm. We would very much recommend this place.
