You had to call multiple times to her to get an answer. Right from start to finish the communication is really bad.
Since we wanted to book through two seperate cards we had to do seperate bookings and we got wrong bills for both. Inspite of explaining multiple times (all over text since noone picks up the phone). Finally we had to sort it out through AirBnb.
The area of the apartment is good but the maintenance is bad. The place started leaking in the last two days. But as with all other things, there is no response from the owner once the money is paid. Please get all things clarified beforehand before staying here is the most important thing I would say.
Red was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The location was excellent, very easy walk and short red line commute to all downtown attractions. The condition of the apartment was a little less than stellar. While the unit was clean, it certainly is in need of a fresh coat of paint and some other cosmetic repairs. The beds were some of the most uncomfortable I've experienced, none of us slept well as a result. That is my one complaint. Not much seating in the living room if you're having more than 3 people stay and want to use that room to socialize. I do stress that it was very clean, and with a fantastic location. Red and Will were great to work with also.
Nice apartment, well located (close to a subway station) to discover Chicago. No regrets about the choice.
But difficulties to be in contact with Red before our arrival : no answer to several mails the week preceding the beginning of the location, just an answer when arriving at Chicago airport ! Not the better way to begin holidays.
Red was a unresponsive owner. We could not get ahold of her to get instructions to get into the home. When we finally got in the place was a mess. The sheets were soiled and dirty towels pilled up in the kitchen. Lights were burnt out in the steep slim staircase and it was dangerous and hard to find out way up. We were unable to get ahold of anyone the first night we stayed there and had to deal with the issues our selves. She was a pain to get ahold of the whole time and tried to cheat us out of a refund. I do not recommend staying here.
The apartment was so cute, in such a great location and Red had a great set up that was so convenient for us! Would definitely stay again!

About the Host, Red
Travel is fun and exciting but can be hard on the wallet. It doesn't have to be that way. Email if you have questions, especially if your requested dates are in the near term and I will do my best to work with you!
Having spent more time than I care to remember in sterile, uninviting hotel rooms, I was initially attracted to vacation rentals as refreshing, and often more affordable, alternatives. What I found were the same white walls and beige furniture or, even worse, cluttered rooms and Aunt Edna's donated dilapidated couch in the living room. Well, welcome to something different. Take a break from your busy schedule by relaxing in clean, inviting rental that that feels enough like home that you're immediately comfortable while being so special you'll look forward to your return. Many of my guests have been back 2 or 3 times, and some have found themselves venturing across the country to check out another Red Hot Vacation Rental.
My places are located in Chicago, Miami Beach and San Francisco. I've lived in all 3 cities and am happy to suggest hidden local gems or recommend the best nearby dry cleaner.
