You'll enjoy this quiet room with it's memory foam bed and adjacent bathroom, or rent both bedrooms and share the bathroom. Located in a tranquil and safe neighborhood conveniently located to hiking trails, shopping, and most everything SLO. #111943
Hiking, biking, beaches, golf, farmers markets, wine tasting, shopping, relaxing…there is so much fun in SLO, you’ll understand why we are called the happiest town in America.
Located at the base of the Irish Hills, my home is only 1 mile from Madonna Inn, 2 miles from downtown, 5 miles from the airport, 7 miles to Cal Poly, 12 miles to the beach, 15 miles to Morro Bay, and 45 miles to Hearst Castle.
Enjoy your stay in this lovely bedroom with adjacent private bathroom in quiet family neighborhood. Walking distance to bus stop, shopping centers, hiking, biking and parks. The room also has a 4 drawer dresser, vanity table/desk and 24" flat-screen TV with DirectTV DVR.
There is convenient street parking in front and located in a safe neighborhood with no through traffic. An easy stroll up the neighborhood trails rewards one with expansive near 360 degree view of the city.
I’ve lived in SLO since 1971, graduated from the University, raised a family and own a business. I will be happy to suggest great places to visit, fabulous restaurants as well as secret spots the locals only know.
A second guest room is available for an additional charge of $59 per night or $369 per week. It also has a queen bed with memory foam mattress, dresser and flat screen television with DirectTV. Bathroom would need to be shared.
IMPORTANT — PLEASE NOTE! The City of San Luis Obispo requires us to collect a 10% Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) which is payable upon your arrival (preferably in cash). A payment envelope with the amount payable will be provided for your convenience.
I will gladly give you access to the Keurig coffee maker with k-cups, tea and all the normal additives. I usually have space in the refrigerator for a few items. Additional kitchen cooking privileges will be granted upon request.
Interaction with Guests
I am always happy to be here to greet my guests and welcome them to my home. After that, they are free to come and go as they wish and interact with me as they wish. I continue with my normal schedule but willing to make myself available for questions or needs via phone, text or email.
This is a very quiet family neighborhood located at the base of the Irish Hills open space. There is only one inlet/outlet which makes it very safe and low traffic flow. The adjacent mountains make for a lovely view and offer several hiking/mountain biking trails.
There are several bus routes that stop at the entrance to the neighborhood. Parking is conveniently located in front of my home on the street. If coming from the airport, taxis are are available from the terminal.
Other Things to Note
We are currently experiencing a drought. Our water is very precious and expensive. Guests are asked to be considerate, limit showers to 8 minutes or less and to conserve whenever possible.
The outside lights will turn off automatically, however please turn off the inside lights left on for you to find your way to your room.
I believe that most guests will be as considerate of my home as I am of them during their stay, so I don't feel the need to have any "House Rules" per se. I want to make my guests feel comfortable and welcome during their stay and know that they are free to come and go as they wish!
Great location and super comfortable bed. Enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone!
Peggy was a great host and we loved her house! We rented two bedrooms - both were spacious and beautifully decorated with the most comfortable beds. Peggy's attention to detail was much appreciated, like the area maps in the room and suggestions given to us on local things to see and do. Oh and the bathroom had the best towels and bathroom mats !! Made us want to replace all of ours at home! The neighborhood is very quiet - which allowed us the best 2 nights sleep of our whole vacation. Being able to walk out of the back door and straight onto a mountain hike was a huge bonus as well, which we enjoyed. Downtown was a very short drive away so the location is perfect. We would certainly recommend Peggy's home to others.
My trip went without a hitch. The reservation was easy and Peggy responded immediately. When I arrived, the room looked exactly like the photograph, clean and beautifully decorated. Her home and garden is lovely, very quiet and there is no traffic noise in the neighborhood. Peggy had all the amenities of a five store hotel: plush towels and robes, toiletries, brochures, water bottles and snacks. Bus transit in the area runs every half hour and her home is an easy 10 minute walk to the nearest stop. I took a taxi into town one rainy morning...it ran $15. I felt quite a home, helping myself to the tea and coffee bar as well as lounging in the comfy bed. Peggy is a consummate hostess!
Peggy is a fabulous host who provides just the right amount of hospitality, warmth and service to her guests. This was our second stay with Peggy and Squirt, her adorable little doggie. We were welcomed on our arrival and enjoyed a very comfortable stay for the weekend. The room is immaculate, well-appointed and we felt right at home. The location is close to food, gas, shopping and freeways for easy access to the many fun things to see and do in SLO. Once again, staying with Peggy was great and we know we'll be back!
Peggy is by far the best hostess you can get. Everything you can need is there and she anticipated and provided and warm and inviting place to stay. I will definitely stay here again the next time I come to SLO. Thank you Peggy
Peggy's listing was exactly as described. The room is very clean, quiet and welcoming. Peggy is a great host and very attentive to every detail, from having hot water waiting in the morning for my tea, easy access to WiFi, to extra necessities in the bathroom in case you forgot to pack something. This was my first Airbnb experience and I will definitely book again.
Peggy keeps her home immaculate and everything is very tastefully decorated from the frosted lit lightings at the entrance pathway leading up to her house to the interior.
She takes great pride in keeping it spotless. She makes time to engage with her guest and she allowed me to use her kitchen to prepare simple breakfast and exchange recipe with her. Her place is set in a very safe neighborhood and is very conveniently located and
accessible to major shops like Whole Foods, Costco,
Old Navy, Target, TJ Maxx and to downtown.
I highly recommend her place and will definitely consider staying with her when I go back to SLO.
After graduating from California Polytechnic State University I married and raised twin girls who are now 33 years old. I work as a Graphic Designer from my home office. I have a small dog, a Westie, named Squirt who is friendly and loves visitors. I walk the dog early in the morning before settling down to work. My evenings are filled with cooking, going out with friends or just relaxing.
I love living in San Luis Obispo and enjoy sharing it with my guests. I am delighted to offer suggestions to make your visit a memorable one! Please feel free to ask.
