Arabella is very welcoming. The house is very light and airy with the wonderful view but off track. The terrace is extensive - the photos do not do it justice.
The road for the house is very bad so take care. The local roads are narrow but typical for Italy - you will need a good map and GPS is helpful!
Our tips: the local village shops are fine but go early; Conad in central Lerici; 2 supermarkets at Arcola meeting point; wifi at Tamoil Ressora on P432 otherwise hard to find in Lerici - did not try San Terr. as parking not possible; try the restaurant at the gate into Niccola up in the hills but closes on Thursday; parking for Lerici is in a vast site on the outskirts; take ant-midge sprays; if the electricity goes off overnight, flick the fuses.
The view from Arabella's family cottage is stunning! You get an unobstructed view of Lerici and San Terzano - just enchanting to end the night with wine and cheese on the terrace, with the view at your feet and surrounded by the lush hillside. The cottage is charming, the rooms very nice and comfortable, 2 bathrooms (water pressure great) and kitchenette with dishwasher. We were only there for 2 nuts and would have loved to stay for 2 more - but the rest of Italy needed exploring. Arabella was wonderful hostess and gave us great restaurant suggestions, Pin Bon down the road was delicious - a set menu of the chefs choice for 35 Euro including wine - we were full before the secondi course. There were 8 samples to start, followed by a giant serving of pasta for prime course ... Super value and a must for the food, handsome servers and city views. I would come back again and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Just make sure you are comfortable driving on windy, steep, grave roads, but it's Italy and that is the terrain in this beautiful part of the country. Brava Arabella, we had a wonderful memorable stay.
Arabella gave us good instructions on where to meet and drove us to the house. The house was amazing and in pristine condition. Stocked kitchen so we could make our own Italian dinner. Incredible views and patio to enjoy. Glad we had a car to get to and from the beach. This was our favorite place of our vacation.
We loved our stay in this house in the hills with the best view you can imagine. The view in the harbour of Lerici, San Terenzo and the bay to Palmaria is absolutely amazing! You can look at it for hours. The house is a true holiday home from a family. Just as it should be. A little outdated which makes it very charming. We will definitely go back!
Arabella was the perfect hostess. Our stay in Arabella's Lerici Villa was by far the favorite part of our 2 week vacation in Italy. After meeting us and showing us the villa, she recommended places to eat and local towns to visit. These recommendations were well kept secrets that were off the beaten paths of over places that were overcrowded with tourists. The views from this villa of the sea and the local towns are breathtaking. The pictures in Arabella's listing do not do justice to the views. I would highly recommend this villa and we will definitely be back the next time we are in this part of Italy.
The villa was prefect, clean and with amazing views. Host was also very nice and easy to deal with. Thank you
