Our self-contained, studio annexe - which sleeps up to 4 guests - is just a 5-minute walk from the city centre of medieval Wells, the smallest City in England.

The annexe is situated in the grounds of our property, with its own entrance from our gated driveway where you may park for free (shared with us).

The space includes kitchenette, lounge area, kingsize bed, sofabed and separate bathroom with a shower and bath (towels included). TV with Freeview is included, plus WiFi.

The space
The kitchenette area includes a mini worktop 2-plate hob (please note no cooker), a microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, kettle, cutlery/ crockery etc. There is a table and four chairs for dining. Towels and linen included. Tea, coffee and sugar included.

About The Time Trail of Roses
The property’s name stems from the original landscaping of the garden with the planting of 1,000 roses in chronological order. The garden has been varied over the years but still retains about 200 different roses which combine with herbaceous and shrub beds, pergolas with climbing plants and trees including variegated sycamores, cherries, apples, plum, ginkgo and a twisted willow.

You are free to explore and enjoy the grounds of the property (including the play equipment at the back) but please be aware the annexe is situated in the grounds of our garden so you may come in to contact with us and our children playing in the garden.

In the current climate, we offer a space that does not require you to come into contact with us. We live on site though and can be available, should you require.

Sofabed can either be made up in advance, or linen and bedding provided for guests to set up as and when they choose.

Location

Somerset, England, United Kingdom

Wells is the smallest city in England (population about 12,000), nestled on the southern side of the Mendip Hills with the mystic Somerset Levels stretching away to the south and west.

Wells has much to offer whether you choose to visit for a day, or longer, and whatever the season.

It remains remarkably unspoilt with many ancient buildings, including the Cathedral (still a working place of worship) and the Bishop's Palace Gardens and moat, Vicars' Close and St Cuthbert's Church.

Wells prides itself for its many independent shops, cafes and restaurants, selling artisan goods and locally sourced food and drink. There is a Farmers’ Market every Wednesday and Saturday.

Wells is also the perfect base for exploring the local area. With its position close to the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is an ideal base for nature lovers, walkers, cyclists and photographers.

Close by you will find the well-known destinations of Glastonbury, famous for both its music festival and Tor, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Street, Bath and Stonehenge. Travel a little further afield to discover the Somerset seaside towns of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-Super-Mare and many other National Trust & English Heritage properties.
