Where you’ll be

East Riding of Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom

The locality;
Huggate is a remote hamlet on the Yorkshire Wolds, a farming community with local characters and friendly ambience free from the stresses of city life. Highlights are the Village church with spire, and one of the deepest wells in England. The bungalow is a two minute walk away from the village 16th Century historic freehouse inn and restaurant, The Wolds Inn, one of the best eating houses in the county which offers an excellent selection of traditional English meals in a Yorkshire portion size and excellent beer. For the outdoor folk rambling and walking are the main activities for visitors, right out from the doorstep onto the Wolds Way or Minster Way or down the valley to Millington Wood. Other local activities within 20 minutes include golf, fishing, and horse riding. For horse riders one paddock is available for grazing.
Pocklington a market town just 15 minutes away by car, it has beautiful gardens and lily ponds, plus an art centre which hosts live entertainment and recently released films. Pocklington has a good selection of shops, supermarkets and a market in the town square on Tuesdays, a bus runs from Huggate each Tuesday to this market. Close by golf courses in Kilnwick Percy or Ganton. Stamford Bridge & famous battle site of 1066 is just 10 minutes away.
The Historic Walled City of York is a city of museums of all kinds just 18 miles away. The coast is within easy reach with many contrasting beaches; Whitby, Flamborough, Scarborough and Bridlington. Two other market towns worth a visit; Malton with Museums is on the way over to Pickering, the North Yorkshire Moors and Whitby. Then Beverley with its very own Minster.
An ideal location to study, for holiday makers, ramblers and those travelling long distance for Naturopathic Treatments, Allergy Treatments or folks just wanting to escape to the country and get away from it all.
