The space
You will have your own private entrance in to the farmhouse with key safe that leads in to a self-contained beautifully appointed Sitting/Breakfast room with open fire, bookcase and original art. A microwave, kettle, mini fridge, cutlery and crockery are provided in order that you can prepare breakfast or a simple evening meal. Included in the rental are milk, tea, coffee, muesli and biscuits. Stairs from the sitting room lead to a large bedroom with extremely comfortable king-size bed and en suite bathroom. The bedroom has a small, simple TV and fast Wi-Fi with plenty of power points. A chest of drawers and dressing table/desk and comfortable chair are also provided. The en suite bathroom has a beautiful roll top bath and large walk in shower with excellent pressure. Towels and individual toiletries are provided for your use. Obviously cleanliness is of paramount importance, we have committed to following the Covid Cleaning Protocol, and your suite, door handles etc will be cleaned and sanitised prior to your stay. In order to adhere to this we ask that you check in after 3pm and check out no later than 11am. We have a large garden that you may exclusively use along with outside seating and a BBQ that you are welcome to use. From August 3rd we can also prepare a full cooked breakfast using the highest quality fresh local produce at £10.00 per person to be served at an agreed time. The Church Farm Breakfast is cooked entirely on the AGA and uses no additional fat, surely making it healthy!! It consists of Penllyn Estate Local Pork Sausage & 2 rashers of Dry Cured Smoked Back Bacon, local Free Range Egg, Portobello Mushroom, Cherry Tomatoes and Heinz Baked Beans, Sourdough Toast, Butter and Preserves, Orange Juice, Pot of Tea & a Cafetiere of Fresh Coffee. We are also happy to offer a vegetarian option. We will serve it in your sitting room at a pre agreed time and let you know when it is on the table for you to come down from your bedroom to enjoy. You may pay for this by credit card or cash (if you prefer to shield completely) when you advise us that the dishes are available to clear.

Location

Penllyn, Wales, United Kingdom

Ystradowen is a quiet rural village surrounded by footpaths through the glorious countryside of the Vale of Glamorgan. Cowbridge, named by the Sunday Times in 2017 as the best place to live in Wales is only 2.8 miles or a 7-minute drive with its many independent stores, pubs, and restaurants. Just a short drive will take you to the vast golden beaches of Ogmore By Sea and Southerndown, the lighthouse at Nash Point or the cliffs of Llantwit Major. Within 15 minutes you can be sampling wine at Llanerch Vineyard in Hensol or cycling through forests. Half an hour will see you in Penarth, Cardiff or well on the way to Swansea and the Mumbles.
The Glamorgan Heritage Coast stretches for 14 miles, from Aberthaw to Porthcawl with plunging cliffs, secluded coves and breathtaking views it is a must for walkers, cyclists or anyone with a love of the countryside
The whole coastline is fringed with delightful towns, small villages and miles of footpaths and country lanes. By far the best way to explore this remote and beautiful coastline is on foot.
The tidal range here is the second highest in the world after the Bay of Fundy in Canada, this, along with the dramatic blue lias cliffs creates stunning seascapes to rival any coastline in Britain!
All of this combined with wooded valleys, spectacular wildlife and 2000 years of human habitation, makes this coastline truly unique.

With the current crisis take a way food options are important and you have many choices including all of the major supermarkets within a 3 mile radious. The newly opened Forage Farm shop just outside Cowbridge offers fantastic local produce, reheatable meals and take a way gourmet picnics!

We have recently moved to the Vale of glamorgan and are blown away by the glorious scenic countryside and particularly the Heritage coastline that we are fortunate to have on our doorstep. I am a full time professional Artist and work from home. Walking and sketching is then translated in to paintings back in the studio. My husband, David co owns a business in Penarth, Cardiff but is currently also working from an office at home. We would love to share this beautiful place with guests. We both love traveling and exploring new places and Wales does not disappoint!
