Interaction with Guests
I often see guests in the morning but they are completely on their own. I am available about 80% of the time for guests needs as I live in a small apartment at one end of the house.
Walk or drive or take the free Yale shuttle bus straight down our street to downtown New Haven and Yale University - about 1.25 miles or a 30 minute walk.
We have 3 off-street parking places in the circular drive in front of the house and lots of free parking anytime on the streets. The free Yale shuttle bus will pick you up directly across the street and take you downtown and to Yale University. Take a taxi from the airport ($20) or from the train station for about $10.
Other Things to Note
Use our coffee/tea/cookie bar which is available 24/7.
This is a beautiful neighborhood filled with mansions to the North, South and East.
There is no smoking in the house. No loud noise after 11 pm please. We are 100% pet free.
Elizabeth was a very kind and thoughtful host. She was there at the time agreed upon, she made me breakfast at 7am even though her house rules ask for it to be after 7:30am. She would always make sure that I was okay but also give me my space. The house was always clean and warm, and is appropriate for someone who wants a quite place to stay.
The location is convenient because the Yale Shuttle is just across the street.
I had a wonderful time. Very friendly environment. Beautifully kept place. Strongly recommend this place!
The reservation was canceled 114 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Catherine was a nice and communicative host. She responded promptly to my request, and it is a tastefully decorated house. The breakfast was lovely with a good spread of fruits, croissant, eggs, bacon, coffee and tea. It is slightly outside of downtown and close to two miles from yale and few restaurant around. However, the Yale Shuttle is across the street, so made it accessible to downtown in 8 minutes.
I have stayed in several guest houses and this was certainly my best experience. The house is located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, a few steps from the Yale Blue Line shuttle, that will take you to the campus in 5 minutes. It has a great variety of amenities: a welcome breakfast for your first day, fast wifi, a variety of things to drink at all times (bottles of fresh water, coffee, tea), cookies. Everything is clean, everything is comfortable. But most importantly, Elizabeth, the host, is a nice and welcoming lady who will make everything to make you feel at home. She will tell you about the things to do in town, take you to do groceries if necessary, and try to accommodate all your needs, while also respecting your space and your privacy. I stayed here for one full month, and If I come back to New Haven, I will certainly stay here again.
We had a great days in Elizabeth house, the house is very comfortable, clean and big. We lived in a little apartment was fine, we had privacy and we can cook our meals it was helpful for us because we stayed four weeks.
Elizabeth's place is very comfortable and homey. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Access to a kitchen was especially helpful for us since we stayed 3 weeks. Everything was kept clean and neat.
