Our host, Georgie, couldn't have done more for us. She was so helpful and attentive. The cottage is filled with her original artworks. It was like staying in a gallery. The food was delicious and the views just out of this world. A short walk out of the door is Rame Head with its ponies and ancient chapel. A real marvel. Thank you so much, we look forward to returning :)
We chose the venue as it was an ideal base for our friend’s wedding at Polhawn Fort.
Georgie and her family made us feel right at home straight away (a cup of tea on arrival after a 5 hour journey was more than welcome!). Georgie's daughter (a trained chef!) made the best scrambled eggs we have ever tasted. Unbelievable. The mini easter egg on Sunday morning was a lovely touch.
The cottage is furnished to a high standard and was very pleasant. It's quirky design only added to the delightful experience.
The coastal location is beautiful. Be sure to visit Rame Head Chapel during your visit for spectacular coastal views.
If you’re in the Rame area stay with Georgie. You won’t be disappointed.
Lovely accommodation & great host! It’s a very nice and lovely place for all who seek rest and enjoy silence. The breakfast with home-grown vegetables was very delicious. Thank you Georgie for all the valuable recommendations and the pleasant conversations.
Easy to find, lovely outhouse conversion. Lovely warm shower, great decor and a comfy bed. Cereal provided on first morning and a yummy cooked breakfast the next morning along with healthy food advice. Great weekend overall!
Lovely little accommodation with a friendly host, all the basics we required and a great location for what we needed, would recommend to all
We had a wonderful time at George's she was a wonderful host with great stories over avidly breakfast. The room was lovely and cosy and we loved the location and the wildness of the surroundings. Thank you.
We were looking for somewhere quiet and 'far from the madding crowd' in high summer. Georgie's hideaway was a godsend and she was a perfect host. We stayed at 3 Coastguard Cottages for two weeks.
At a busy time of year, Georgie was always at hand to ensure we had what we needed and she often arrived at the door with samples of her delicious cuisine. We did not try Georgie's breakfast on this occasion because she had an exhibit to mount and family visitors but we are sure that her breakfasts and evening meals are as delicious as the snacks she provided.
Her house and the room itself are delightfully and tastefully furnished and decorated, full of the unique touches of her artistry. The room is as described and equipped with all essentials: simple, practical and cosy, especially when a storm blows round the roof.
It is an excellent base for exploring the Rame peninsular which is full of interest. There are some superb walks in the area and the coastal path is especially spectacular and easily accessible from Georgie's place. Georgie's garden is a unique and tranquil place to watch the changing colours and moods of the water, and to rinse out the distractions of the world.
If you are staying for more than a couple of days you need to eat out because you cannot cook in the room. We found excellent food at 'The Devonport Arms' and deli cafe in Cawsand and at 'The Canteen' in Maker.
Among other places of interest to visit in the area, we especially enjoyed Coethele House and gardens in the Tamar Valley, reachable by train from Plymouth, Edgcumbe House and gardens and Antony House.
Knowing that we could return to the cosy tranquility of 3 Coastguard Cottages and that we could walk out to the chapel on the headland whenever we wished, made each day a special adventure.
We would recommend Georgie's place and this 'forgotten corner' of Cornwall to anyone who enjoys peace and quiet and warm hospitality. It is a unique, restful 'place to be'.
