Our home is in Haute Provence, or "high Provence," the most beautiful corner of the Cote du Rhone, in the foothills of Mt. Ventoux. Vines surround us, hillsides of lavender and green. 10% discount for May and June!
Welcome to our home, a 200-year-old village house in the medieval village of Buisson.
Our village, surrounded by hills of lavender, pine trees and vines, was established eight centuries ago by the Knights Templar. It overlooks a breathtaking valley and is within minutes of fabulous markets, bike rides made famous by the Tour de France, Roman ruins, astonishingly good restaurants, wine tasting, hiking, kayaking and swimming. We have three spacious bedrooms, a private roof terrace, living room, dining and kitchen. The house is pretty, simple, cozy and great for a romantic getaway, outdoor holiday or a vacation with family or friends. We think it's a little piece of Paradise.
Many of our guests are interested in the decorative arts -- furniture, pottery, textiles, sculpture, the "art of the table," architecture. We can provide you with lists of the best local markets, brocantes, vides greniers, antiquaire, as well as the ateliers of local painters, sculptors and potters.
Other guests are hikers or cyclists keen to attempt Mont Ventoux or more gentle rides through the hills, or lovers of wine who find endless domains nearby to taste and explore -- Gigondas, Beaumes des Venise, Cairainne, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Tavel.

Sydney is a wonderful host and her home couldn't be any more perfect while staying in Provence. Buisson is a quaint, beautiful little hilltop village. If you really want to feel like a local to the area, then look no further than this home. It's centrally located to all the things that make Provence such a special place. There were six of us staying in the home (age range: 3 to78) and it has something for everyone.
We're already figuring out when we can plan another trip to Buisson.
Our stay at Sydney's cottage was simply wonderful. It was such a unique and unforgettable experience! We were a family of 4, there was plenty of room, yet the house still felt very cozy. The town of Buisson is adorable too; being able to stay in such an old, medieval town on a hill was quite the privilege. We were there a week, and could've stayed much longer. There are so many adorable towns nearby to visit, we also took day trips to Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, and Avignon. Our stay was during Christmas, and the house had no problem keeping us toasty. We cooked a pretty professional Christmas dinner, and the kitchen kept up with us in stride. The view of the town from the roof deck is remarkable.
Sydney was great to deal with, communication was very easy even across many time zones. My mother described our stay as 'exactly what she had dreamed' and it will forever be an incredible memory.
Sydney's house is amazing! We (family of four) stayed there very comfortably for two weeks in July. The entire house is incredibly charming and well kept. It has a full kitchen, comfy living room, and great private deck on the roof where you can lounge or even take an outdoor shower. The little town Buisson is very cute and rustic. It is well-located in the middle of Provence, close to Orange and Vaisson-la-Romain. There is an amazing farmers' market that rotates from village to village around the area. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for an authentic Provence experience.
this cottage was truly beautifully cared for. The owner has a great appreciation for the cultural artwork and has decorated it tastefully.
it is well equipped and very comfortable. There were three of us in the house, but it could comfortably accomodate more. We were able to drive out on day trips, eat at great restaraunts, see old sites, shop at marches', cook meals with the local food and on and on. It was a delight and I recommend it as a true immersion in the everyday lifestyle of the area. Oh, the countryside with the grapevines, cherry trees, mountain range and lavender fields are beautiful to drive through. The owner has everything prepared to make your stay a great experience. We would come back! 5 stars!!!

Divide my time between Austin and southern France and love both. Austin is fun and filled with music, friends, whacky events (think Spam-a-Rama and Eeyore's birthday party) and surrounding rugged Hill Country. France is more gentle fun and filled with art and architecture, friends, theatre, music and amazing food and wine. Both the houses I rent are my homes and, so far, my Airbnb guests have been great!
