We have a very small but cosy house in a quiet location, despite being so close to all the amenties one expects in a town. The odd hoot of an owl, screech of a fox, mooing of cows, bleating of sheep, can be heard. The latter can be viewed from the garden.

WOW, what a fabulous B&B!
Anne, Tom and Robbie are most welcoming of guests and we feel like we have developed a valuable friendship with them all! What a fantastic couple (and cat). They invited us to use the facilities their home had to offer - kitchen, lounge etc. They are well travelled and their interesting stories kept us entertained and gave us the thirst to make more time to explore the world.
We slept like babies on the comfy double and if you keep the window open you will awaken to the sound of birdsong and church bells. Little extras like fresh fruit, biscuits and chocolates are left in the room and show that the guests are valued. The views from the lounge and study are amazing.
We will be recommending this B&B to anyone we meet and if you are looking for a place to stay while visiting Skipton or the Dales stop now and book this one as it will add just that little bit more to your break, maybe even your life.
Ann and Thomas were wonderful hosts. Very friendly, great breakfast, nice room and as the house is on a quiet street it is very peaceful.
It is a very interesting place to stay, loads of fascinating pictures on the walls and a fine ginger cat.
A very clean and comfortable place to stay within easy walking distance of the centre of Skipton. Thomas and Anne made us feel very welcome in their cosy home. No economy brands here, the breakfast table was laid with a generous spread of finest quality produce and there was fresh fruit, luxury biscuits and chocolates to go with the tea and coffee we could make in our bedroom. Large soft towels and copious hot water in our own bathroom further added to our comfort.
We had a wonderful stay with Tom and Anne. They were incredibly considerate, helpful and welcoming. They were kind enough to let us use the kitchen to prepare our evening meals, do our washing (we were so grateful when Anne amazingly got it all dry and folded for us! WoW! - such kindness) and they prepared a very tasty breakfast for us each day. We had a very comfortable stay in the bedroom and enjoyed the luxury of the warm bathroom where we were able to dry out our hiking gear each night.
The town of Skipton is a beautiful town with lots to do an explore.
We would highly recommend a stay with Tom and Anne if visiting the Yorkshire Dales. A great location, a very friendly and warm stay!
We had a wonderful stay at Tom and Anne's in Skipton.
To begin with we were greeted with tea and cake and great conversation. Tom and Anne are engaging, well travelled people and delightful company.
The room is just perfect. It's super cosy, with a very comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities and plenty of treats- biscuits and fruit etc!
Breakfast was exceptionally generous: Tom's homemade bread, jam, cereals, croissants, yogurts etc.
The location was ideal too- just a 5 minute gentle stroll into town. Far enough away to be completely peaceful but near enough to be able to visit one of the many restaurants and cafés, not to mention the market in 5 minutes!
The only downside is that we wish we would have stayed longer!
Overall, a truly wonderful stay with gracious, engaging and welcoming hosts. We highly recommend anyone to stay here and we will definitely stay here again should we visit Skipton in the near future.
We had a great time at a-little-cottage-on-a-little hill although too short ! We were invited to a wedding in Skipton and stayed only a couple of days. We arrived late and managed to get lost... Tom kindly came down the road to find us. We then met Anne and spent the rest of the evening with them in the living room, sharing travel stories and family souvenirs. It was lovely. They have been all over the world and moved so many times ! They now seem to continue their journey by listening to their visitors' stories.
The house was cosy and quiet, we slept like babies.
Breakfast was copious with home made bread (by Tom). The bathroom is very spacious and the house very clean.
We definitely recommend this "petit bout de paradis" and would love to go back to Yorkshire with the kids.

Ann and Tom are engaging, flexible and accommodating hosts, both interesting and interested in conversing on all manner of subjects. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and within walking distance of everything in Skipton, including pretty walks in the castle woodlands and along the canals. The en suite has an incredibly powerful hot shower, breakfasts are varied and generous, and the sitting room and kitchen are available to use. Thank you Tom and Ann for a very enjoyable and memorable stay. If we were in Skipton again we wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Stayed here whilst visiting Skipton for a friend's wedding. Lovely cottage, with friendly and interesting hosts on hand for a cup of tea and a chat about travelling the world. Room was very comfortable, really good breakfast, nice bathroom and whole of first floor was pretty much my own whilst I stayed. Excellent location, 5 minutes walk from the high street and the castle (which is well worth a visit).
Thanks for a great stay!
Our stay with Tom, Anne and Robbie was absolutely over the top, largely because our hosts welcomed us into their home so warmly and the accommodations were excellent. We had a lovely continental breakfast each morning on a beautifully laid table and a steady supply of various fruits and goodies in our bedroom. We were welcomed into the cozy sitting room, complete with a warm fire and delightfully engaging conversation with Tom and Anne and the pleasure of the company of one gentlemanly kittie. Parking was no problem and our hosts were ready and willing with suggestions and information for day trips in the area. We were there for a week and were sad when it was time to say good bye. We would highly recommend a stay with Tom, Anne and Robbie in their little cottage on a little hill.......and certainly hope we may find opportunity to spend time with them again.
Friend Gabrielle and I had a brilliant stay with Tom, Ann and Robbie. Having stayed in quite a few B&B's, one gets experienced in the "feel" of a location quite quickly. Tom and Ann welcomed us to a very relaxed, calm, friendly and comfortable environment. With a fellow ex-antipodean as part of the team, how could it fail? Sorry for attempted humour!
But, seriously, if meeting some genuinely interested and interesting hosts, along with a homely and comfortable B&B, then don't missing checking in at A Little Cottage-on-a Little Hill. Location is great ... just a 7 min walk to High St, green space nearby and most Dales regions within "striking distance" of abode.
Thanks guys. I will be back. Graeme.
